Post-cruise round transportation options from Canada Place to Vancouver Airport?

As someone who lives in Vancouver there is absolutely no way I'd pay $25 for Disney's airport shuttle. Most continent way by far is a taxi- $35-40. I'm an advocate for the skytrain- it's $3.75 to YVR and super clean, easy, safe, and reliable. It's only a short walk from the port- BUT and here's my but. Debark day everyone is tired and luggage is comber some- if it was just me I'd skytrain for sure, but with a family I'd taxi it.

Hope that helps!

That IS very helpful! Is it easy to get a taxi after getting off the ship?

I don't live in Vancouver, lol - but I agree with this and this was how I felt when I considered our transportation. We took a taxi from the airport to Pan Pacific and also back to the airport after the cruise, from Pan Pacific/cruise terminal. It was quick, easy, and as I remember around $35ish with tip. There are three of us and considering DCL charges this almost per person, it seemed silly but I understand the convenience factor of DCL.

If/when we return to Vancouver for another Alaska sailing without a doubt we would use a taxi to save funds and it's just easier to us than the skytrain. There are plenty of taxis waiting outside the airport and also after the cruise - they are lined up and waiting. We actually got our taxi after we grabbed our suitcases after customs, downstairs, not out front of the Pan Pacific as they are waiting after you disembark.

Glad it was useful info! We have debarked twice in Vancouver and once I took a taxi and once a bus. Both times I had to go straight to work- happy days lol. I seem to remember getting a taxi was no issue. If it's vastly backed up you can always walk down about 100 m and take the elevator up one floor to the ground level of the Pan Pacific/convention centre. From there there will be someone controlling taxis and I'd be surprised if there was any wait.

Vancouver is a great "little city". It's a straight road out of Vancouver to YVR and while us locals love to complain about traffic, my experience is that it's nothing on major cities in other parts of the world. I'd expect to be from port to YVR in about 25 mins without any real issues.

Enjoy your trip through Vancouver- it's a real gem and if you can spare a few days pre cruise to enjoy some of what we have to offer you should try to- it's a great place! :)

Thank you both! Good to know taxis are readily available right outside the port. The tip about going to the Pan Pacific is handy too!

And yes, we are planning to hang out in Vancouver for a few days before the cruise... Can't wait!
