Post cruise MVMCP question

Sailing on the dream 12/15-12/18 staying one night after at All-stars the plan is to hit downtown Disney, ride hot air balloon,BBB, and T-Rex. This is my first time to experience the parade I was told we can get in at 4. What other tips, tricks, advice? Can we ride the rides until the parade? Are they shut down during the parade? What is there to do? Thanks
