Post Cards From The Islands!!!!

GREETINGS FRIENDS!!!!
My family and I are headed to our first Disney Cruise next Saturday. We are sooooooooooooooooooooo excited and can't wait!!! We are looking for firt timer tips as well as how we can send postcards from the Islands to our family members back in the USA. Any tips you offer will be greatly appreciated. 6 days to go!!!! YAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just don't panic if they take a LONG time to arrive from Castaway Cay. Sometimes they are fast, but sometimes I've seen them take up to 8 weeks!

Same goes for Nassau. I mailed a postcard back to the nurses I work with, and I was back at work for 2 weeks before the postcard ever got there.

We're planning on mailing a postcard to ourselves from CC this year, just to put in the scrapbook. All other postcards will be mailed from the WDW resort before we sail.

We printed out address stickers for all the people we wanted to send postcards to and color coded them with a colored dot in the corner of each indicating which island to send them from.

Then, one of the things we did at each island was to find the post office. This took us on some streets we might never have walked before and we had a delightful time exploring and seeing sites off the tourist route.

In Grand Caymen it was so HOT that day and the Post Office was SO AIR CONDITIONED it was uncomfortable after a few minutes, but we did it.

In each port as we walked to the PO we found a store and bought local postcards. Then we went on to the PO where we asked for stamps to mail the given number of postcards. We used one of the high counters in the PO and one of us put the address stickers and stamps on the cards while the other quickly wrote--HAVING A GREAT TIME! WONDERFUL TRIP! or something like that on each card.

We mailed ourselves and a friend who is a Boy Scout (with a postcard collection) a card from every port but most people only got one from the trip.

Dropped them in the appropriate slot and off we went.

In Nassau we were pleasantly surprised to see a large display about breastfeeding being best for baby and a rack of religious tracts.

Mail from St. Thomas. Since it is a USVI, you will be mailing via USPS. (I saw a mailbox at Havensight mall) Time should not be so bad.
