Post all SW questions concerns, etc. here...

How are they going to "waive" the charge at the time of bag check? I'm just curious how it will work if you "pre-pay" for your checked bags when you check in at T-24.

We booked seats on the JetBlue website a few days ago, using my husband’s sign in & new JB credit card. When the screen to select extras came up, it automatically had 1 free bag listed for each of us. I imagine SW will do the same thing.

I think I know the answer to this, but if I book a flight (before 5/28) using a couple of travel credits and points, and the fare decreases and I rebook, would I get the point difference refunded? Does the travel credit usage interfere with the points reimbursement in any way?

Are you thinking Points plus Cash booking or that you'll use the travel credits to cover taxes and fees?

I've done travel credits to cover taxes and fees and then adjusted flights for points reductions no problem.

I've never had to do points plus cash, so I don't know the hierarchy on whether, in the event of a reduction, they first give you back points or travel credit.

I believe that a points plus cash booking is treated as a cash booking, no points returned, only travel funds.

For anyone looking to defect from SW to Frontier......for $40 Frontier has a status match to Gold from any level of Rapid Rewards membership. Gold gets you a free carry-on bag, free regular seat assignments at booking, and possible upgrades to better seats at check-in. I think if you fly one time the $40 is worth the price. If you are a regular Frontier flyer this is a great promo. The status looks to be good thru Dec 31, 2025. Status match seems to be offered until April 30th (or until they pull it early).

Another points/cash question - what happens if you book a flight fully on points, then change to a different flight that costs more and you don't use points to pay the difference? I assume you are charged the dollar difference between what the cash amount of the original flight was and the cash amount of the new flight?

Then you can't rebook the new flight. :( Points flights can only use points as "currency." There is no cash equivalent, other than buying more points as a separate transaction, and then using those points to pay the difference.

Wow! Yesterday morning I was thinking of adding 2 days to my Sept trip and when I checked price to change it showed “0”. I just decided to go ahead and make the change and now price shows “+5,000”…
