Just got AAA discount on Pop Century: one night preferred room 5/1/09. Was $147 (with tax). Now $124 (with tax). They asked for my AAA # & expiration date. In the past, I just had to show the card when I got there, so be prepared when you call. I spoke to Passion. She also said that the dining plan prices should be out in a couple of days.

I called AAA this morning & was told that package prices will be out sometime later this month and that right now, they are only able to book room only reservations.

The guy I spoke to said we get a bigger discount when booking a package. Is that true?

Dumb question...but if I just book a room only for 2009 through Disney, but I have AAA, to get their rate, would I have to cancel my reservation and re-book through AAA? Not sure I want to do that and risk losing my room. Especially since there's a chance an AP rate or other codes might come out next year. I guess I was thinking I could just tell them I was a AAA member when I made the reservation through Disney (which I forgot to do anyway!)

Not a dumb question. The answer is no. You can book a room with an AAA discount through AAA or through WDW. SO if you've already booked a room through WDW, you can call them back and ask if you can have an AAA discount applied to that room. But you should do that today because there's a limited number of AAA discounts available - you aren't garunteed a discount just because you're an AAA member, you still have to reserve the discount before they book out all the discounted rooms.
If you do this through WDW and a better code or promotion comes out next year, you can just call them up again and switch to that code.
