Possible weekend snowstorm

Had one last night and now we can't drive our car :guilty:

Rich::

My parents still live in central Virginia and I've been telling them a big snow was overdue...I don't think this is the big one but it's gonna be close. ;)

I kinda wish I was back there this weekend...we're getting lots of rain in Orlando and the temps are falling for the weekend.

I assume the bread, milk and water will be GONE by the time I get to the store...:rotfl:

YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want snow! I want snow!

I want to sit by the fire watching Christmas movies while inches and inches of snow fall. I want to drink hot chocolate while inches and inches of snow fall. I want to wrap presents while inches and inches of snow fall. I want to cuddle up with my honey while inches and inches of snow fall.

I am SO EXCITED! :banana::cool1::dance3:

I hope I don't end up with a disappointment now. :(

I feel the same way as you! I would love to get snowed in this weekend...I have seen forecasts from 1-23 inches for my area....Thanks weathermen for narrowing that down :lmao:

Tonight I work til about 2 am. DS has swimming lessons tomorrow at 11 that I hope he can make since he has missed the last few weeks due to our vacation. Then I need to stop at the store to get ingredients to do my Christmas baking. Hopefully it won't be bad so we can do those few things then it can snow the rest of the weekend for all I care. Baking, finishing wrapping and watching some holiday movies sound perfect to me!

They have cancelled all school activities for the weekend. And our county has declared a snow emergency starting at 8am tomorrow. :thumbsup2

wvjules - WHAT!? I'm on the eastern shore and haven't heard anything yet about this weekend's activities. I am like you and would love ALOT of snow!! My DH on the other hand is stressing, he's the manager of a retail store and looking forward to a BIG weekend in sales. But I told him "Honey, if people need to shop for Christmas, they are gonna shop for Christmas, no matter the weather." Granted Wal-mart was packed at lunchtime, people grabbing up the bread and milk...what is it with snow and having to have bread and milk? We just need poptarts, hot chocolate and wine for Mommy and Daddy!! :laughing:

The entire state is under a winter storm warning for Saturday.

Snow could begin tonight and continue through Sunday morning.

Accumulations could average 5 to 10 inches, possibly more. One usually reliable forecast model is showing 18 to 24 inches of snow in central Maryland, possible.
A blizzard watch has been posted for Long Island, New York.

Road crews are already treating some major roadways in advance of the storm.

State Highway Administration spokesman Dave Buck said chemicals used to pre-treat roads stays on the roadway for up to 72 hours, and is very effective in preventing snow from sticking to the roadways.

Two events have been cancelled for Saturday due to the pending storm.

Baltimore County Health officials have cancelled the swine flu vaccine clinic that was scheduled for tomorrow at the General John Stricker Middle School.

Baltimore City Police say they have postponed the "shop with a cop event" for needy kids that was set for tomorrow. There will be a make up date, but officials haven't set it yet.

I woke up early this morning and saw the latest weather reports. I was at the store and shopping by 7am. I didn't want to deal with the after-work crowds tonight. I'm all set with hot cocoa, pot roast, and DVDs (my satellite always goes out when it gets covered in snow). They're now calling for about 15 inches here. Bring it on (but don't knock out the power!). :woohoo:

Woohoo!!!

I'm excited - still have Christmas shopping to do but I don't care. 10-15" predicted in our little part of Maryland. That's more than all of last year!

I've lived here for 6 years and I'm still waiting for a "big" storm (I'm from New England). I may finally have it!!

It seems we're on the business end of this storm too - I've already done the laundry, cleaning, kids baths and picked up food and wine. Ready to settle in with a blazing fire and a movie and just let it snow!

Oh how I wish we were getting LOTS of snow! We're supposed to get some overnight and into tomorrow morning, but only a couple inches of accumulation. :sad1:

I too want to light up the Christmas tree and snuggle with my sweetie and watch old Christmas movies and drink hot chocolate and wrap presents while inches and inches fall...*sigh* I guess I'll be doing all of that while an inch or two falls...:rotfl: Oh well. Some is better than none I suppose.

Nooooooooooooo snow.

We are suppose to leave for Florida tomorrow. We are driving down from NJ.

You can have some in the a.m. but please make sure the roads are clear by the early afternoon. :cutie:

My husband is coming home tomorrow evening. I could do with a snowed in weekend;)

But for the record, I am HATING this cold weather. BRRRRRRRRRR I look like a little stay puff marshmallow when outside.

LOL...I know! I keep saying that if it's gonna be this darn cold, we should get some snow to make it all worthwhile!!! :thumbsup2

Here in Central NJ we're supposed to get up to 10". Let's see if they're right.

It will make a wonderful blanket for the Live Nativity on Sunday night :)

I just need to get to my office Christmas Party Dinner and stop by the grocery store on the way home tonight and then it can snow all it wants until Sunday morning :lmao:

I have to get to work tomorrow morning - keep the snow north of me please

:guilty::scared::sad2:

We're supposed to get 10-20" this weekend. I'm so excited. Now, if it was happening on a weekday I'd be upset. I don't have any time off left. But this Saturday snow is a good deal!

Iam in Delaware and we are getting "10-"20 inches:cool1:. Making chix and dumplins tomorrow. bought my ice cream,now we are set.

They're saying 10-20 inches here in Baltimore County. Joy. My MIL gets into town tonight and she's bringing her crazy boyfriend. I can't even have a glass of wine to relax! Ugh. At least I know my gramma is going to be ok, my aunt is going to take her dog for the weekend so she doesn't have to walk in the snow.
