We have done Disneyworld before 2 and a half years ago. My husband just realized we have free airfare with points and then today we got discounted offer for Disneyworld resorts today in the mail. So our trip could be fairly inexpensive but really the only time for us to go is in 5 weeks. Are we crazy to try to plan a disneyworld trip so quickly? Last time we planned for 6 months to a year!

Heck no! Go for it! I planned my 2013 trip just eight weeks out and it was great...have fun!

totally possible if you're okay with spontaneity! From what I've read, early february is a good time to go, I'm going the first week of the month myself! Airfare is pretty cheap right now. Since you've been before, you should already know the must do's for your family, you can already view a weather average tool, to help decide what to pack...if you have an idea of what resort you want to stay at, the rest should be fairly simple! Good luck! :) Also if you have any questions throw them my way! I was just there in the beginning of november. First week of February is next, then the last week of april or beginning of may will be after that! So i'm getting pretty experienced at planning disney world trips on limited time!

I have done a trip calling to book a room on Sunday, arriving 6 days later. We do not like to do many(if any) ADRs so that helps and we took the best available on FP's and kept looking to try and improve them.

I have gone to disney with just 3 days before was great trip got some great FP (7DMT TSMM) I do not eat on site I bring my own food but I know people who got in to BOG the day before for 3 people so I would say go do it no you may not get every FP ADR you want but it is still fun

I should add that from April to December I went to disney every 4 to 6 weeks so 5 weeks out for me is a normal time frame to plan trip

I planned a weekend trip 3 days in advance! You're good! And even though my trip Jan. 30th-Feb. 6th has been booked since Oct. I didn't know it was for sure until last week, so had nothing but the flight and room until a couple days ago. Getting ADRs and FP for Feb. is pretty easy.

As long as you can actually get those discounted flights and resort rooms, then its perfectly possible. You may not get every ADR that you want, or the exact FP times, but everything else is doable. I planned a spring break trip 2 weeks out a few years ago.

If it was a busy time, you would maybe have difficulty getting FP+ for the times you want.

If it was a free dining time, you would have difficulty booking reservations for the restaurants you want (If planning to eat at places that require ADRs.)

Other than that, should not be a problem at all. Have a great trip!

Go for it! If you really want a cheap trip skip the theme parks and just do the pools, DTD, the boardwalk area at night, the GF after 4:00PM. and touring all the different resorts.

Oh, you can do it!!! You may even find that having less time to plan, & re-plan, etc. makes for a more enjoyable trip. You should be good to go for finding some of the ADR's & FP+ that you want in February. Keep us posted - would love to see how your trip goes!

Last year, I planned a July trip, only six weeks in advance. I was able to get ADRs for all the restaurants I wanted. There are certain harder-to-get restaurants that didn't happen to be on my wish list for that trip, so YMMV, but it worked out well for me.

It can be done. I planned in 10 days and even got a reside at CRT. Book those FP. Have fun. Planning is one my favorite parts of the trip.

My last 2 trips were planned 4 weeks out or less. Super fun since you don't have to wait for the magic. Enjoy!

You can most definitely do it AND have a great time. You might have to stalk the site to get fast passes you feel you must have, but you also might find some new rides or shows you're crazy about.

Do it do it! I just did this, booking ADRs at about 7 weeks ago because I was 95% sure we'd be going, didn't actually book the room til 28 days out, then added tickets a week later, and dining a week after that! We leave in 8 days, I am so excited!!!

While I have slightly mourned the loss of months of excitement in planning, being immersed in planning for the past few weeks has felt really awesome!! I have had trouble sleeping the past few days because I am so excited (kids have too), and I cannot wait for it to be the weekend so I can pack our suitcases!

Definitely possible. A few years ago I had started a job in June and was informed in December that I could take my earned vacation time between January and March. I picked a week in January and my mother and I booked a mother/daughter trip with about 5/6 weeks notice, and fairly inexpensively, too. We weren't picky about dining reservations, but we got all the ones we wanted, got a good rate at Pop, low airfare and had a fantastic trip.
