Since there are 5 people in our family. 2 adults and 3 kids , we want to stay at the Pop and have two rooms. Can we get a King bed with ajoining room to a double bed room? Is it possible? We live in Az and will be planning a trip to WDW for May 2012. I know about the suites at All Stars , but the kids really like the POP.

Thanks Missing WDW badly ;)

When I have a room request I call the hotel directly with in 10 days of checking in. They won't guarantee the request but it's worth trying. I asked for a king room at Pop last summer and got it. I'm sure they must have adjoining king and double rooms. Worst case is that you'll get two double rooms. Good luck!:goodvibes

Do you want adjoining or connecting? Adjoining means two rooms next to each other, connecting means a door in between.

Adjoining or connecting are only requests and not a bookable category. Disney will NOT guarantee an adjoining or connecting room but will do the best they can. You would need to request this by having that request put on your reservation. This can be done at the time you book.

As for the King room on a two room reservation, I don't know if they will let you or not. King rooms can only be booked for 2 people so you would have to split the adults up between the rooms (since the kids wouldn't be able to book a room).

And to the PP... unless you have an unlisted number of some sort, you are not calling the resort directly. All calls for a specific resort go to a call center. When the line rings, it tells the CM what number is being called so the CM can answer as that resort. This is even true if you call from the phone in the rooms.

just a note...when you call the "hotel number directly" you're actually getting a Disney call center nowhere close to Disney...some of them are over in Tampa, even. They answer the phone "Pop Century" but they are not actually at the resort you think you're calling. The call center person will put the request in, but can't actually assign you rooms when you talk to them about the situation. Disney has a new computer system that automatically assigns rooms so do not be surprised when you check in if only one of your requests is met. Editted to add...sorry about that was typing as other post was being made with same info.

Did want to add that there are a limited number of connecting rooms where one has the king size bed & the other has 2 double beds. Most of the time when we have been in connecting rooms, both rooms have had the double beds. If the kids are under 18 and they don't give you connecting rooms they will be expecting the adults to split up so that one adult is in each room...just so you know.

We have had connecting rooms at Pop with king bed and double beds. I don't know how you'd go about guaranteeing the setup, but it IS possible...

No you can actually call the Resort itself... The number is (407) 938-4000.

Yes, that's the published number for Pop Century. But like all the other published resort phone numbers, it goes to a call center, where the operator will answer with the name of the resort whose number you've called.

Even when you call the front desk number from your room, it goes to the call center.

That's weird because the reason I have that number saved in my cell phone is because it's the one that popped up when my son called it from the room we were staying in...

We booked two rooms back in 2008 that were ajoining, but we were given two double in each room. I think that you can request it, but it's not guaranteed.

.

This came up for us last week at POR.

When I booked through Disney, I was told they will guarantee connecting rooms, and in fact this statement was in the e-mail confirmation.

When we got to check in, our rooms were not connecting and I was told what you said above.

Luckily I had the printed reservation with the guarantee on it. When I showed it to them they found me 2 connecting rooms.

Still a mystery to me though why they put that on my reservation. Was done through Disney.

Here's what they sent me: (I notice the "guarantee" is under "request", but it still a guarantee.)

I second that you should ask for connecting rooms rather than just adjoining rooms. Since you have two adults and three kids, it is possible to get a room with a king and a room with doubles. You would book one adult or one adult and a kid in the room with the king. Book one adult and two kids or one adult and three kids in the other room. As long as they meet fire codes, your rooms cannot be guaranteed. That means they cannot make your second room a king as well as the first (since one room will have at least three people, unless one of your kids is under three). However, they can put you in two doubles even if you reserve a king on the first room.

Make sure you request exactly what you are looking for, which is a king and double connecting room. Hopefully, you will get it if it is available. If you get there and it is not, you can always keep checking if you are willing to move rooms after you check in. Good luck.
