Plus do M&G with A&E?

We will not be staying onsite so no early admission for DCA.

On our trip there last month during Spring Break we rode RSR twice per day with FP and got A&E FP the one day that the little kids wanted to do that as well.

Good luck and have fun!

awesome! Do you mind sharing your strategy? Did you ride RSR first and get a FP for later?

Yes, it's possible! In fact, it's possible to ride it three times in one day! We did it the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so it was a fairly busy day. The key is to get there at rope drop, or just after as was our case, on a non-EMH 8am opening. I think we arrived around 8:15am and immediately pulled RSR FP #1 for a return time of 9:45. After pulling FP we then went and rode it stand-by because the CM said it was only a 30min wait, but it really turned out to be 40min. No big deal, the line moved pretty quickly and it was fun to see the entire queue. We were done with our first ride around 9am so went and rode Mater's and some rides in Bugs Land. At 9:45 I went over and pulled RSR FP #2, which gave us a return time of 5:45-6:45pm, which was perfect since we wanted to ride it at night (it was dark by then in Nov). After pulling that FP, we went and used FP#1.

After riding RSR with FP#1, then go and pull A&E FP. I'm guessing that you would pull that at around 10:15 and your return time would probably be around lunch time, if not earlier. The A&E FP does not count against your RSR FP, so you could pull it earlier if you want, but it's totally possible to get them both done before lunch. Just be careful because A&E has a smaller return window, like 20min so you don't want to miss that.

I hope that all makes sense. Have fun!!

thank you! this is awesome! We're going in the beginning of October so hopefully not *too* busy. DS is a huge Cars fan and finally tall enough to ride. He's also more into thrill rides now that he's 4 so I want to be able to hit RSR as much as we can this trip :)

edit: and DD will kill me if we miss A&E lol. We have 5 days total and need to be able to do it ALL

Easily done. Head to RSR first thing in the morning. Once you've done that, get a FP for the ride. And the A&E FPs are available for quite some time. Once it moved to DCA, this meet and greet became easy. We grabbed a FP to meet them at 4pm for a 5:30 return time back in Feb on a Thursday. This should be no trouble for you.

We grabbed our FP's for RSR as soon as we got into the park. Then we went to the Paradise Pier area to ride TSMM, Screamin' and all the Midway stuff. Then we would go back and check the FP return time for RSR and wait until they were later in the day so we could ride again at night and pull another FP as soon as our window opened up......RSR is such a different experience at night!!

We had a group of 13 so we had runners that would take our tickets and go get FP's for rides so while some of our group were on rides a few that didn't want to ride would get FP's and that is how we got the A&E ones. In fact we got these for people that didn't end up going so we gave them away to a family that had young girls and were not able to get one as they were already gone......that was awesome to see the smiles on their faces when they were able to meet A&E.:goodvibes

That is one thing I don't like about FP+ at WDW......they go to waste if you don't use them. At least with the paper FP you can give them to someone to enjoy.

We rode it twice every day. We did standby first thing in the morning, then got fastpasses so we could ride it at night. I LOVE that ride!!

This is what we would do basically. DCA allows guests into the park 30 minutes before opening. People line/crowd around the three entrances from the hub. We often go around through Grizzly Peak because it's so beautiful. Ride Toy Story first (great ride, no FP) and then grab a FP for RSR. This gives a morning FP return. Once that FP time comes up you're allowed to get another one. Be aware though, that there are return rules on FP. So if you get your FP at 8:10am and it says return at 9:45am, you can get another FP for RSR as soon as it's 9:45am. If the FP you pull then is for 5:45pm you will not be able to get another FP for any ride at DCA for 2 hours (11:45am in this example). And they will not let you get another FP for RSR at 11:45 because you still hold a valid FP for RSR at 5:45.

We rode three times in one day during the first week in March, when crowds were really low. We planned to do the wide right technique, but they announced before rope drop that RSR was down. We went to TSMM first (discovered that wide right also works for this), then headed back to RSR just as they re-opened it. We waited less than five minutes to get on, then pulled a FP for around 1:20 or similar. We used the FP at the beginning of our window, and when we got off, there were still evening FPs left.

I'm not sure what the crowd levels will be when you go, but I think you should be able to ride it at least twice.

What is a "wide right technique?"
As the CMs walk the crowds towards Radiator Springs at opening, they funnel you to the right side. If you position yourself on the right-hand side at rope drop, it's supposed to get you closer to the front of the RSR line. This was the only time we tried using it, and since it was closed at opening that day, I can't say for sure that it works.

I have seen some YouTube where it seems to work, but I've also heard a lot of people know about it now, so it might harder to get a good position on the right.

Ok, I'm having trouble envisioning this. Isn't Cars Land on the left side of the park? Or is the rope at the entrance of Cars Land?

I wasn't getting it either, but this video helps

edit: Since a couple of people have pointed it out, I wanted to clarify that this video is old and apparently the techniques aren't completely accurate anymore.

This video was posted only because a PP was asking about the wide right technique, which this video does explain.

I would say that wide right technique does work, but you can easily get two rides in, if you get to the park a few minutes before it opens.

Park opens get a FP for RSR. I would avoid the wide right technique because doing to Toy Story Midway Mania and the other Paradise Pier attractions will be more important to do in the morning.
After you finish Paradise Pier, I would do at least one ride on Soarin and Grizzly without FP if time permits. Then get your second FP for RSR before you use your first.

Yes, that's one of the videos I was referring to. It seems counterintuitive, but I guess it works because RSR is on the right side of Cars Land. Maybe somebody who actually used it on a morning when RSR was open at rope drop can say whether or not it's still a good plan.

Of course!! Make one of those times at night! It's a completely different experience with all the lights, etc. We've ridden it 3 or 4 times in one day. Single rider, FP, early morning, end of night. All those combos can work! Have fun!

That video is pretty old though. Just for anyone watching this who hasn't been to the park in a few years, there is no line for FP before the park opens now. That is they do NOT allow guests to line up for the FP before opening. And the RSR does count towards your count of FP now.
