I plan on getting to hollywood studios when it first opens. My plan is to fp toy story mania then get on rock and roller coaster. Then hopefully Tot won't be too crowded, so I could get on that. By then I'm hoping the Fp for toy story mania will be up, so I could use that. Finally, by then I can head to star tours and ride it. I want to finish all this by 11:30 am. Then I have the rest of the day for a lunch, few shows (only want to see Voyage of little mermaid, american Idol, and maybe 1 more) and the backlot tour, dinner at DtD, and then head back to see Fantasmic. Am i being too ambitious? It's only me and another adult.

I don't think the part before lunch is too ambitious at all. In fact, it's what we usually do when we go to HS and we have 2 kids.

The afternoon part may be a little much. If you leave out the Backlot tour, then you should have plenty of time to do all that. It's the leaving and coming back that is going to eat up much of your time.

Even with my own car? Wow, may rethink dinner then, may just have it in the park. Well it's good to know before lunch is do able. I was worried a bit about that.

Depending on whether you like action or Disney movies, I would suggest you don't miss the Indiana Jones show or Beauty and the Beast, or do both if you can! We enjoy Lights, Motors, Action as well. And for Fantasmic, line up at least 1 1/2 hours before the show if you can and just plan on people watching or chit-chatting while waiting in line - if the line gets past the entrance on the main street, you're going to have to cross your fingers that you get a seat! And believe me, you don't want to miss it! And try and get in the first one if you can, then you can come out to an empty park and maybe get one more ToT ride in!

You may be able to do it but I'm not sure why you would want to.

Yes, even with your own car. Depending on where you are in the park, by the time you make it down main street and out to the parking lot, it can be quite a walk. HS isn't as bad as say, Epcot or MK though. Both of those can be quite a haul to your car.

I'd look in to getting a Fantasmic! dinner package. The "reserved" seating that comes with it is awesome. You only get to choose from 3 restaurants, but having the reserved spot is wonderful. We did it two years ago and are doing it again in September.

I agree with the PP that if you don't leave for dinner you should be fine. There are many really terrific restaurants in DHS. I love 50's Prime Time myself (yummy pot roast!), and if you're looking for quick-service then try the ABC commissary. They have a great Asian salad. :)

Also, you definitely want to be at least an hour early for Fantasmic. Especially if there's only one showing that day.
