Possible Thanksgiving trip

It's usually our policy to avoid the really crowded times at Disney, but we're just dying to go, and with DD's school schedule there are only a few times open to us. She gets a week off for Thanksgiving, so we're thinking of trying for Nov 17-25. Just how bad *are* the crowds over Thanksgiving? We've been pretty close to Christmas, and we were glad to get out of Dodge once the crowds started pouring in!

We were hoping to go to MVMCP on the 17th and CP on the 24th. Are the dates for CP confirmed?

So two questions: are the crowds around Thanksgiving unbearable, or simply bad? Are they comparable to crowds around, say, June, or closer to that of Christmas? Second question, are the dates for CP confirmed or not?

We've been once before for Thanks. week and are going back this year. The crowds PRIOR to Thanks. Day are very bearable, however Thanks Day and days following are pretty crowded. I've never been in June or December, so can't compare to that. I think you'd enjoy Thanks. time - they go up with the Christmas deco after Thanks. Day, truly enjoyable!!

We are going the week of Thanksgiving for exactly the reasons you said - it is less crowded right before Thanskgiving. It starts picking up the closer you get to Thanksgiving though.

We've gone every other Thanksgiving since we moved closer. It's nothing that scares us off. The Christmas decorations are up, the Osborne Lights are there. It's really nice. Yes, it is crowded. We do Epcot on Thanksgiving Day. If you haven't already made an ADR, do it NOW! There are so many people wandering around aimlessly without a reservation and no where to eat anything.

But I'd rather be at Disney World over Thanksgiving than anywhere else. On the alternate years, we go to my husband's parents. It's fun and all but we both prefer Disney World!
