Possible New Resorts!

Was there any mention of a Princess and the Frog theme? I mean with POFQ how could they not right?
I LOVE THE ROYAL THEME. We already stay MOD. It's almost like getting to stay in the "guest house" of the castle. I love it.

From the survey:

In this special room, Tiana has hosted her royal friends from around the world. During your stay, you will discover that each friend has left Tiana a special thank you gift for her hospitality by adding touches of fun and sparkle to the interior decor. With magical fairy dust swirling above, you’ll recline in ornate canopy beds trimmed with velvet fabrics, carved detailing, and a bejeweld golden crest. Rich ceiling moldings, drapery, and custom linens further enhance the luxury of your special stay. Adorning the walls, signed protraits of each princess appear in jewel-set frames while princely swords and shields gurad the entrance to the royal dressing room and bath. It’s an enchanted stay as a special Guest of this “Royal Room.”

I just received an email from Walt Disney Parks and Resorts Research asking me to take a survey. First they asked questions about my recent stay in May.

Then they asked for my opinion and feedback on three new themed resorts which they said would be moderate resorts - a Haunted Mansion themed resort, a Pirates of the Caribbean resort, and a Princess/Royal Themed resort.

I was given a brief description and asked about my initial reaction to each of the themes and then they showed me pictures (computer drawn) of how each of the rooms would look in each of the resorts along with a more detailed description. I was then again asked on how these resorts would appeal to me, etc. Love the Haunted Mansion theme by the way.

So it seems that Disney is at looking to add additional resorts at some point and is in the market research phase.

Exciting stuff!
As you probably know by this time, the survey was not for themed resorts, otherwise it was for themed rooms for Moderate Resorts... POFQ and Riverside Magnolias.
Haunted Mansion rooms for FQ
Royal for Magnolias.
Theming makes 100 percent sense on both parts.
Not sure what the Pirate part of the survey was, as those already exist.

Actually, regardless of what's being planned, it would make a lot more sense the other way around.

Princess and the Frog (Tiana) royal rooms would be a much better fit for French Quarter (due to the New Orleans setting) and the mansions at Riverside would make great, well, mansions... heck, half of the work is already done there! :)

Perhaps they could even do another batch of pirate rooms in Alligator Bayou, that'd be quite a good fit too, with pirates hiding out in the swamps and backwaters.

That's right...infamous pirate Jean Lafitte supposedly had a hideout in the swamp...hmmm....:scratchin

thanks!

OMG...I would LOVE to stay in a HM room!!! I love the conceptual artwork for both rooms, even though I am not much of a princess fan.

Wow! I really wish I would have found this thread before the pictures were gone. I really love both of the these theme idea. Anyone still have pic's they could share?

They are in the midst of renovating the Disneyland Hotel right now too - and over the summer they announced the pool and resort re-theme would be "Disneyland.' I even heard they are re-naming the hotel Towers after different 'lands.'

To me it seems entirely possible that this market research was done for consideration for rooms at both WDW and DLR. Wouldn't that be cool!?!?

What do you think?

I would LOVE to stay in a royal themed room!!!
Canopies and drapes and swords, oh my!

Gorgeous themed rooms like these would definitely make people flock to these moderates! All the deluxe only people who have gotten "broker" due to the economy or just want/need to save money would be all over it. For the rooms to be so well decorated and not cost deluxe rates it's almost as if this is a convenient price range between moderate and deluxe. Ah, the opulence...:cloud9:

It's OBVIOUS they tried to make it ROYAL and NOT princess. Genie's lamp and the Clocksworth lookalike are practically the first thing you see. Not a dash of pink but lots of deep blue. Even the duvet covers are covered with Prince Phillip's shield.

The haunted mansion room is so clever! Glow in the dark footprints and a "secret" bookcase bathroom entrance-love it!

They MUST make these rooms! :worship:

Has anyone heard any more about whether these rooms are going to become a reality and where they will be located?!!!

Please, please let them be more than an artists concept...........:worship::worship:
debsx:)

I think the Haunted Mansion sounds interesting, but it would be even better if they made the Hollywood Tower Hotel instead. I would stay there! (But maybe I would use the stairs instead of the elevator). ;)

That would be awesome! I would totally stay there!! :upsidedow

I would be interested in the Haunted Mansion theming. They'd have to be careful with that idea so as to not scare people but to me it can be as spooky as they wish!
