Offsiters on the EasyWDW boards report that they're seeing messages indicating they'll be able to sign up for FP+ before hitting the parks starting in April. :cool1:

That doesn't mean they'll be able to sign up as early an onsiters, of course, but it does seem to indicate offsiters will be able to avoid the kiosk lines. :)

EDIT:

More info in posts #9, 10 & 19.

:dance3:

Did the people who have posted there say where they are staying and what kind of tickets they have?

I wonder if this is part of the process of allowing annual passholders to get MBs and make FP+ reservations in advance.

Nobody said where they were staying; no mention of APs but one person said, "We're staying offsite but have plans booked in the MDE system, and have our park hopper tickets linked."

They might have activated bands from a prior stay?

So no one received communication from Disney stating this? That's what I thought you meant.

It could be one of those things where, if you know enough to set things up on MDE and link your tickets, you can make FP+ reservations in advance.

In the early stages of the resort test there were people who were able to make FP+ reservations without receiving a formal invitation to participate in the test.

It's being reported the message, from Disney, is on their MDE homepage. So, it appears to be advantageous to set up MDE even if you are an off-site guest.

At the very least, link tickets and ADRs because the message is an alert to say it begins in April.

2 different posters, saying April 7th they can access fp+. I know one has an ADR and has her tickets linked, no mention of previous stays/bands.
One has vacation in March, the other in Feb, so the date of April in not adding up.:confused3

I'm watching for more info from them or on here, since we are always offsite. popcorn::

Correct. It was on their page when they were there for some other reason. Sorry, went back and changed that so hopefully it's clearer.

It's true!

Just went to MDE (where I have my park tickets linked) and it's different. Has a FP+ option and tells me I can make my FP+ reservations 60 days out. I am so HAPPY! I was really apprehensive about our spring break trip but now I'm not!

I have no magic bands, have not stayed at a Disney Resort in years. I do have the new tickets (updated them last year when we went). We are offsite people, fyi.

I just signed in and there a section that says FP+ and "Lock in your choices up to 60 days in advance." Under is a button that says make selections but it has a lock on it. I do not have any tickets linked to my account but I have some ADRs set for June. I wonder if ADRs would be the trigger on what days I could prebook for or if I had tickets linked I could go in today and prebook for any day 60 days from today or less. I am afraid to link a ticket because there may be a chance I will have to link it with a different account and I don't want to get messed up.

You do need to link tickets in order to schedule Fp+.

if this is true, this is great news and I won't need that throw away night now :) I still need to link my UCT tickets...

I know I need to link tickets but my ADRs are for June. I am more than 60 days out. So the question I wondered about was, will the site not let me prebook FP+ until 60 days before my June date using my ADRs as a trigger or would I be able to make go ahead and prebook FP+ today IF I had a ticket linked.

So are you 60 days out then? (I have a sick toddler, no sleep, brain is fried, cannot do the math. :teacher::sad2:)
And you are not an AP? I am so hopeful! :cool1:

From what is showing on easywdw, the target date is April 7. If you had tickets linked on MDE and were in the 60 day range of April 7th, then it wouldn't hurt to attempt to schedule a Fp+ to see what happens.

Ditto on this :thumbsup2 Altho the kids were excited about the pool. (we were going to use the room for break)

No, even if you have your ticket linked now, you would have to wait until 60 days out to make your FP+ selections.

I am not 60 days out. It has a lock symbol next to the FP+ and says I can make them on 2/22.

I am also not an AP.

Hope your little one feels better!

Ok, the point I'm making is then it would be my ADRs that would be the trigger because besides that, Disney has no idea when I would be at Disney. How would they know I'm not 60 days out today? Remember, I don't have a reservation to go by. So if someone had an account set up on Disney but have no ADRs or anything linked to the account would this option still show up
