Possible good news about PI...

If you'd just stop putting bourbon on your Cap'n Crunch!

WRONG!

I've been on the South Beach Diet for over two weeks (down about 12 pounds so far  ). Not only haven't I had any bourbon (or any other alcohol); but I can't have Cap'n Crunch.

this week.

As for all the other disagreeable weeks - who knows.

 Way to go Rob!!! :woohoo:

There was a lot of talk that the closing of PI was because it was hindering foot traffic to the west side and Virgin was not happy with their sales. I don't know how much truth there is to this, but given how much "better" DTD was supposed to be after PI closed, I'm failing to see how it has had any improvement at all. All I see are wondering and confused guests wanting to know what time the club opens.

I frequently make trips to PI to check for any development, no matter how small. kingbobofthenorth also runs savepleasureisland.blogspot.com so check that out for all the latest news.

AC, soundstage, and motion are all open for private bookings until Oct 1. So we know they are not going anywhere. On the contrary, I have peeked my head inside 8-trax through the windows on the back side and can tell you they've ripped all the decor out. Just recently they removed the big huge bathroom sign.

As for mannequins, I have not personally seen anything, but rumors are around saying it's completely stripped.

The management of DTD purposely sabatoged 8-trax and mannequins so they can not reopen. God forbid the clubs we love get to reopen. It does appear that for now, AC, soundstage(who cares?) and Motion(who cares?) are safe.

Safe but closed.

That does me no good.

well at least it's not being destroyed, which is a big step in the right direction in comparison to what people were told at the announcement.

You know PI CMs were told AC couldn't be saved because BET had been bought and was "scheduled for demolition" and the AC is technically the same building. That's what I was told by a CM who worked there 14 years.

A club can be open again anytime between now and oct 1. All it takes is a little faith, trust, pixie dust, and 10k

It sounds to me that all its managed to do is annoy fans and disappoint regular guests.

I'm sure the powers that be will argue that there are still "other excellent venues available at DTD", but that's not the point. It seems like there is still a market of some sort for the clubs if people (be they regular Joe's or fans) still go to see if the clubs are open.

Well I like to look on the positive side of things. So I'll take some solace in the fact that some have been untouched.

Sure it doesn't help those that have been gutted, but it shows that its not all signed sealed and delivered.

There is hope.

I agree with you, and I know kingbobofthenorth is in talks with the mouse to rent out Soundstage and get pea pod spinning again. It would be the first saturday in May..mark your calendars!

And I am wanting to rent out for gay days for obvious reasons. I'm waiting on his negotiations first though.

Fingers crossed then! :)

I think cautious optimisim is the name of the game at the moment. It'll be a small step forward if they do agree (and I hope they do), but it will be a significant step.

Bob is supposed to hear from his rep this week on his proposal. If Disney accepts his terms, the first night will be may 2nd at Soundstage. Beyond that I'm not 100% sure, but I'm fairly certain he will want Motion on Thursday, fri, or sat night as well during gay days. I'm not sure which he will take.

YIKES!:scared1: The new Green Medusa Wally is MUCH Scarier than the Hello Kitty WALLY :scared1: INHO.

Well good luck to him, that's what I say! :) Even the thought that they are considering it and didn't give a flat no is progress.

And I'm sure no matter what day he picks everyone will have a blast.
