Possible changes to the Express Pass program?

After the price increases that went into effect today I've noticed some potential Express Pass changes. Although the descriptions remain the same for the VIP and Express Plus tickets on the information page, if you click on "Begin Purchase" for a VIP pass it brings you to an error page. From the error page you can see the options for "Enhancing your visit", which include the 1 or 2 park Express Plus tickets and the Universal Meal Deal. There is no link for the VIP pass. It is possible that this is all the result of a slow update process (the front page just took the teaser for the $99 deal down a few minutes ago). However, this could reflect a change in the Express Pass philosophy. Perhaps this will further encourage staying onsite, because it is currently the only way to get an unlimited Express Pass. Everyone else buying one will be limited to one ride per attraction per day. Thoughts?

It's possible, but since they are seemingly still in the process of updating, it seems more likely that they just don't have those pages updated yet, as they are likely to have price changes associated with them. On the other hand, given that they were only available online they may just not have had enough interest in them to continue making them available.

That makes perfect sense...we'll see.

Well it looks like "VIP" Express Passes are gone. There are no longer links to purchase them (although they are still referenced if you click on ticket details). The Express Pass info page now lists the 1 or 2 park Express Pass Plus links for purchase, and then shows the option to bypass the lines all day by staying on site. So if you want to have unlimited Express Pass use stay onsite. Otherwise you are limited to 1 ride per attraction per day by purchasing an Express Pass Plus. This may not be that big of a deal if they weren't that popular in the first place ($70 extra per ticket per day gets quite pricey!)
