I said both. Right now my thought is (and I realized a lot could change between now and then) to go down a few days in advance and do the parks thoroughly. Then move to the crop location and scrap during the morning and afternoon, then do the parks in the cool of the evening. The event in penciled in on my calendar.

I forgot to mention too at the WDW Crop you can book your room a few days in advance at the better rate too.

We will probably go down early...already told DH that we are going This trip is my weight loss reward...it's what is keeping me on track!

But I can't see staying inside on a beautiful evening, and I'll be so ready to stretch my legs...and love to dinner in Epcot...and then the male lumps that I'm taking with me can sleep in, and I'll see them at night.

Didn't tell the kids yet though, it will be a before school starts surprise

I said Disney only because I don't want to bring everything across the Atlantic and bring it back, but I do want to do some scrap shopping - Wlamart, Michaels, ANYTHING!!!!! - what does that count as? Our kids don't go back til the first week in September, and DH has almost agreed (as long as we don't go away in the spring) as we have to go for 2 weeks to make it worth it - maybe a week somewhere else then a week at WDW.

I asked DH last night if I could go to WDW in August next year. He said, "Whhhyyyy....?" in a drawn out voice. So then I said, "You don't want to know."

But with my parents being locals, I can at least think about it. This year is Christmas at WDW, so next year we would be going at a different time because Christmas would be with DH's family. But I wouldn't be able to think seriously about it until after the cruise and I know how big of a financial hole I will still be crawling out of. I could stay with my parents to save money, but I remember looking at the prices last year and thinking, "these can't be right, it seems cheaper than booking a room through CRO and you get food." But if those were right, it would be hard to pass up staying at a deluxe hotel.

I guess I would vote for both. It's lots of fun to tour the parks with different people. Everyone has different things they've noticed on previous trips so you end up finding stuff you didn't know was there. But I think I would have to actually scrap stuff to sell the trip to DH.

Buffy, could you give us an example of how much was it for you last year and what it included; hotel, registration fee, and what meals. That should give everyone a general idea of what it would cost for the crop and an opportunity to stay at the Yacht Club.

In 2005 I did the Dream Weekend with Mom and it was roughly $380 a person. That included The room for Friday and Sat night, the crop room from Friday 9am to Sunday 3pm, dinner Friday and Sat, and breakfast Sun.

In 2006 I did the couples Dream Weekend and it was $665, roughly.


This is the package I would choose is I were going this year. It looks like you get even more food. Last year I don't think they served lunch.
The nice thing about it is that everyone can pick the package that is best for you. Even for those with kids in school, could you get a later flight on Friday night and fly home Sunday? That is usually what I do. Also last year they had After 2pm convention park tickets for about 1/2 price. I can't guarantee they will have them again though.

I went to the 2006 one and had a great time. The only problem I had was feeling like I was being pulled in different directions. I wanted to do Disney, then I wanted to scrap, then disney.

So I voted for just scrapping. But you all know I'm in. I think though that I'd need roommates b/c I'm not sure if my friends would want to go with me again.

Well, I'm not Buffy but I can tell you what it was for me. I went with three other friends and we chose the Fri -Sat hotel nights, Sat and Sun crop days and it was $245 for each of us. I got about 22 pages or so done at the crop too. It was a lot of fun!

We did fly out on Thur and went to Disney Thur, Fri and a little bit on Sat night. If I go again, I think I'd fly out on Wed early and have an extra day there.

I voted for both although I probably wouldn't come up until after work Friday and would stay elsewher Friday night and just resigter for the Saturday night. I have APs so I have no problem just hopping into the park for a little while and then coming back to scrap.
