There may be a chance we will have to cancel our HHI trip in 3 weeks. Those points will be in holding (June UY) and I'm trying to figure out what I can do with them. I thought about renting but have never done that...not sure if I want to go that route and I don't know if renting holding points is an easy thing to do. I looked into trading out to RCI but not much luck there. I don't want to lose them and I know we could probably get in at OKW or SSR, which I have no problem with. I was also thinking of a cruise with cash/points.

Do you think it's possible to book a cruise for February on points at 60 days out or is that nothing short of a miracle?

I have tried 3-5 times over the past 4 months, to book short term out, with little or no luck. I wanted to change 1 day in Sept and couldn't about 5 weeks out.
I think alot of people banked last years points, and they are over pointed for the year.

I rent points and prefer short term out, but in May, Sept and Nov, this year have had challanges. You prob won't get 10$ a point, but should be able to get 8$ with this much time left to find someone.

G L!!!

I read that the cruises are soldout for points through next September.

How many points are in holding? That would make a difference on what to do.

Well, they are not in holding yet because our trip is still up in the air. But to answer your question, it would be 100 pts.

You might consider an attempt to rent the existing reservation using the Rent/Trade Board since you are already within 30 days of arrival. If you are unable to find a renter you can still cancel the reservation as late as the day before and the points will still go into the Holding Account. I'd want full payment immediately though. You can submit a rental thread - be sure to use the "Reservation for Rent" title.

Renting an existing reservation should be easier than renting Holding points - especially with the limited availability thru the end of the year.

Good luck!

How does renting a reservation work? I've never rented before and I'm a little bit nervous about it.
