Possibility of getting seated without a reservation

We booked our trip this past Saturday, just a couple of days ago, and I was able to get every restaurant I wanted. I had to get a couple of odd times, but still it was my restaurant choice. Right now I am holding out hope for dinner at LTT on Friday, Dec. 9. It is a MVMCP night so I know it will be hard to get. We have party tickets for the 7th, so we need regular dinner BEFORE the party on the 9th. It is our last night in the parks and my DD is hoping for dinner there, if not the castle, that last night. I will keep trying. For now I have lunch there. She prefers the family style dinner if I can grab it.
I was able to get a CP dinner package and Fantasmic package for my week! I am thrilled about that since this trip was booked at the last minute!

We had an 11:30am ADR at Sci Fi back in September, a slow time of year. Before our trip I tried to make a later ADR but everything was booked so I kept the 11:30. When we got there, I noticed they were turning away walk ups and every car was full when we got in there at 11:30. They were turning tables over fast and no car stayed empty for long. I did notice there were some tables in the back that are actual tables (not the cars) that were empty. Not sure if they were saving them in case people couldn't or didn't want to sit at the cars or what, but if they are willing to sit at one of these tables, they might be able to get in if they mention that.

Doesn't Sci-Fi keep the round tables in the back open for walk-ups?
