was just curious....how often do the tours on positon's fury run?. am only asking cos i know there always seems to be people in the entrance, makes me think that there are loads of tours happening at once. lol, byut perhaps because of the diffrent area's of the tour, it can go one after the other?. for example, after one person leaves the introduction part, the next people go there?

Yeah and I think it's like every 15 to 20 minutes. :confused3

Is this show fun? Scary? Exciting?

its a little cheesey but fun and does have a cool water tunnel you walk thru and some other cool effects.

i love the show myself, really good affects. you go in to this room to start with, and there's like a welcome part where they just introduce you to the show, and what's going to happen. then, they get on with the proper show, they have water, fire, coldness, fight sceens, grate story line and some parts are even grate fun to watch....love the bit where the goddess comes out, and tells tailor that she can't get him out the passage, but can take him deeper in to the tunnel. that's also when the waterfall comes out, don't think little kids would enjoy this, there's loads of special affects. it kinda reminded me of valhalla at blackpool

both those rides are awsome, much prefer earth quake...but still, both are so real

I guess I'm not a fan of Poseidon's Fury. I had no idea what I was getting into, and waited in line about an hour to get into the first room...then another room...then another room...then a really cheesy effect...then another room...cheesy movie and effects...couldn't wait to leave.

don't mind me...I'm just peeved because dueling dragons was down. I hated everything but the Hulk.

Spidey too? And both water rides? And Jurassic Park? And Cat in the Hat?

No, darn it, and now I HAVE to go back, because I got so peeved, I LEFT after Hulk! Didn't even stick around to experience the really good rides I'd heard about.

Chances are good I'll pass on the water rides next time, though. I hate to get wet at parks.

Don't worry...I haven't written the parks off completely yet. Like I said, I liked the Hulk, oh, and the Mummy over at Universal was very good (although really short). But I think next time I'll start with IoA, and end with Universal (I don't think they'll merit more than a day for me...just not that into them), and I'll definitely SKIP Poseidon's Fury. And Twister. Really, the cow on the rope was just stupid.

The point of the cow on the rope is suppose to be like a joke and meant for a good laugh and no matter how much you don't like twister you have to give them credit cause it is pretty good effects for the twisters they create inside a building

I like Poseidon's Fury but don't go to the show unless there is someone with me who hasn't seen it. Been there...done that. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

Yes, it's supposed to be funny. Maybe it's just my type of humor. I love the Advenurers Club at pleasure island but I've gone with others who thought it was stupid.

The cow is so funny to me because in the movie it was a real cow but in the twister show it is supposed to be that cow statue that has advertising on it. You see the cow while you are queueing outside and then see it swing by on a rope. I laugh everytime.

Oh. Haha. Sorry I didn't get it the first time.

The effects weren't bad, but I wasn't overly impressed. I kept hoping for something....more. Then the cow swung by. I guess since I was waiting for a big finale effect (which I don't feel was delivered), I missed the joke.

Different strokes for different folks.

Oh, and as for Poseidon's Fury? The best part is the actor that takes you through the show. He's a hoot! See, I do have a sense of humor!

Neither Twister nor Poseidon are the most popular choices. I think of them as more minor attractions such as "Sounds Dangerous!" at MGM and "Gran Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros!" formerly El Rio de Tiempo. I'll hit them if I have the time.

It sounds like you missed some of the best attractions when you went. These seem to be the most popular rides and shows:

Universal Studios

Revenge of the Mummy
Men in Black
Shrek 3-D
Jaws
Terminator 2 3D
Horror Makeup Show

Islands of Adventure

Spiderman
The Incredible Hulk
Dueling Dragons
Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges
Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls
Jurassic Park River Adventure
The Cat in the Hat

If you missed any of these, then you didn't get a complete picture of what the parks offer. I'm sorry that DD was down when you went but most likely it was open again during the day. Sometimes, rides do go down for whatever reason. I've been on Test Track over a dozen times and so far have only ridden 2 or 3 times. I swear that I must jinx that ride because I stand in line and it goes down right before I get ready to load the ride. Now I refuse to go near it as I feel sorry for all those people who are waiting in line knowing that I will be the cause of them not getting on. ;)

I agree if you miss all the main attractions or even part of them then you are missing out on alot at universal as did I the first time we went and then when we did the 7 day 2 park deal in june we were able to see it all and do it all and don't get me wrong I like disney and loved test track but since I gave universal a chance and found all they had to offer I am now a die hard universal fan.

I got to ride most of the headliners at Universal...Mummy, MIB, Shrek, and Jaws. Jaws is a classic...not a thrill, but so much a part of our culture that I had to see it for that sake alone. Mummy was my first attraction, and I guess after that one, I was spoiled for anything else...it was a lot of fun. Shrek was a waste of time...the effects were not very "effective" IMO. MIB was fine, way better than Buzz...but I never liked Buzz much anyway. I've heard good things about the makeup show, so I'll have to catch that next time.
I did miss out on most of IoA, but like I said, I got frustrated and peeved, and once I'm in a mood, fuhgeddaboudit. I'll have to go back and see the good stuff another time...and re-ride the Hulk (really, really fun!).

As for water rides, don't skip the Jurassic park version. I don't think that anyone gets wet on that one except maybe a little spray. I think it's a hoot in the Jaws tradition except with way better effects and a big drop.

It's too bad that you didn't like Shrek. I laugh myself silly in that wacky attraction. :)
