Positive things thread

In my village over the weekend, our local girls Little League planned a surprise homecoming with the wife of an Army Ranger for his 7 year old daughter - word went out via our very successful and popular Community Facebook page to show up to the ballfield with an American Flag (if you had one) at such and such time. The coach distracted the little girl when it was her time to bat while the dad walked out to the pitchers mound. When she got up to bat, it was her dad that pitched her the ball! It took her a minute to realize what was going on, then she dropped the bat and ran out to hug him. Our local ABC Station was there to capture the whole thing and it was on the news that night.

I love my town. It's such a great place to live.

I watched a rerun of Lassie where he saved an entire family from a burning house

Please!! Lassie may have been a biological male, but she identified as female. Get your pronouns right. Thank you very much. :flower1:

Lassie. Possibly Hollywood's first transgender star.

I slept really well last night - the first time in weeks.

It's positive enough for me so I'm running with it :D

Sleeping well can make everything else just a little bit better, can't it. Hope you have a nice day!

Sleep is amazing! I've learned a dose of magnesium works wonders for my sleep.

A good night's sleep is a gift.

My grandma's cat came home. He's been gone for 2 weeks and he finally showed up last night! I know it's not something that's going to lead the 6:00 news and maybe it's not what you're looking for but we are all rejoicing over here : )

I'll see if I can find something a bit more substantial, I love positive threads and funnies.

.That is news I love to hear.

My sweet rescue dog allowed herself to be coaxed out the front door to meet a couple of neighbors. This poor pup was found half-starved wandering on a city street, slammed into a high-kill shelter, pulled by a rescue group, spayed, fostered and then put into my car for a 1200-mile trip to her new home. All this in the last six weeks. She's terrified of everything, especially if it's outdoors. She's totally bonded with me, but the rest of the world is so-o-o scary.

Tonight she was sitting at the door watching me as I talked to the neighbors so I figured I'd give it a shot. I leashed her up and led her out. She came along willingly(ish). She actually let them pet her. Was she super comfortable? No, but she was outside amongst other living things. It was a happy day for me to see my dog take a brave step into her new life.

I gave my three-year-old grandson a Kinderegg, and he wanted me to help him put together the toy. I was struggling to get the little pieces to fit and said to him: "Grandma is not very good at this."

He rubbed my arm and said: "It's okay, Grandma, you are AWESOME. And, you are BEAUTIFUL!"
He is absolutely precious! :goodvibes

^^ OK, that's more or less what I thought. But funny for me, as a New Yorker, to read in July, so thanks for the smile.

Another one:

We had a big back yard party on Saturday to celebrate my son's high school graduation.

Thankfully, it didn't rain until evening; it would have been challenging fitting everyone into the house!

I set up the steam racks and sternos for dinner, and of course there was a line. My nephew's 7 year old found himself behind my husband's aunt, a stranger he had never met.

He was quoted as asking: "Excuse me, but do we have to PAY for this?"

He hadn't been to my house in years, and apparently he figured he was at a buffet restaurant or something.

Glad I made you smile :)

We rarely get snow, so it was an exciting time. Is over now :( and that will be all the snow we get for the winter.

The winter bitter cold would be much easier to cope with, if it actually snowed more, instead we just get the bone chilling winds from the snowy mountains...so not fair :(
