Positive experience with Costco

We were scheduled on the Nov. 2020 double dip. As much as I would like to think it will be ok by then we made the decision to cancel. Just not comfortable cruising yet. I’ve have been dreading cancelling because we booked with Costco and have read the stories about how bad it is to get through.

To make matters worse I used a gift card to pay for my deposit. Even though I thought I had saved it, I could locate about 20 gift cards in my house besides that one. I put off calling for a few weeks since I wanted to give them time to help those who had cruises coming up soon cancelled. (I called last week the day before they announced the new round of cancellations.

I knew Costco would have to call Disney so I called last week a few minutes after opened. I had to wait about 35-40 minutes to get through but the woman who answered the phone was extremely knowledgable. I explained that I no longer had the gift card. She immediately called Disney. Within a Few minutes the cruise was cancelled and Disney had said they would refund my deposit to a newly issued gift card.

One week later I have a new gift card (they gave me the option of e-gift card or physical card sent to me, I went with e-gift card.)

I am very happy with my experience with the Costco rep and Disney re-issuing a gift card.

I've used Costco for our past three cruises and the one we've got coming up, and to quote Hiro, I am satisfied with my care.

I’m also booked with Costco and have been quite happy with their support for rebooking now 2 cancelled cruises. It was a longer wait time to get through when our first cruise cancelled a week before sailing in March. To be expected as it’s the first time they’ve had to deal with something of this magnitude. But last weeks cancellation of our June sailing Costco actually called me a day after I received the email from DCL to ask which option I wanted to take - rebook or refund. Very impressed with the level of service and obvious learnings they took after the first round of March cancellations. I’m cautiously rebooked for end of November but have until end of July to change the date or get a refund.
