Positive Caribbean Beach Post!

Thanks for update! We requested Martinique to. Hopefully we get it. Headed there the last week of September!!
We also requested Martinique and are there the 20-27 of September!! I wanted to be on the bus first as we have a toddler and stroller! Ha! See you there!

The souvenir truck was a bigger let down for me than the food choices. Those were fine but when I saw that truck I couldn't help but wonder why did they bother. I know why they had to provide some sort of food but did they have to provide shopping? Would it have been missed of they'd just left it out or maybe put couple things in the rooms where they put food?

I kind of agree. Half the truck was swim wear, goggles, sunscreen, etc. I like to shop at the resorts and would have liked to see some other trinkety type things there. I would have loved a little gift with the snack bag!

That's probably why they felt like they had to provide it.The ability to buy all those little things that you might run out of or forget to pack, from sunscreen and basic OTC meds to swim goggles and flip-flops, is something people expect from a family resort. Having to do your souvenir shopping at the parks is no big deal. Having to arrange transportation offsite if you run out of sunscreen is a real inconvenience (not to mention a money-loser for Disney, since once you're offsite you're probably going to be tempted by all the cheaper souvenir places just outside the gates!).

Those are the few things that I was surprised they just didn't put in the converted guest rooms where they added the few food items.

Agree- they should have use 2 connecting rooms for the Island Markets and stocked sundries/souvenirs and more food options there.

Returning from a resort only stay. We were placed in Martinique, water view. We spent our first afternoon in our room for a bit after check in and were not bothered by construction noise at all.

Second day enjoyed pool. Again work was taking place but it is so loud there it didn't interfere. Saw top of a crane from one area of the pool, other than that still a great main pool.

Enjoyed make shift Banana Cabana and the food trucks.

Don't shy away! I would say location does matter. We requested both Martinique and water view and were given both. Close walk to pool and bus depot.

Yes, there are walls up and upon entering the resort there is a A LOT of flattened dirt, work going on. IMO Worth it for the price and fun place to rest inbetween travel. If you are doing the parks I would imagine the construction would be even less of a bother since it takes place during the day.

We'll be just getting back from a cruise on the Dream from 8/21 - 8/25 and we're staying at CBR on Friday 8/25 for one night to go to the first MNSSHP. We don't fly home till 9 PM on Saturday so we're hoping to just crash at the pool until its time to head to MCO. Kinda bummed that the Banana Cabana pool bar will be closed. Its nice to have some frozen drinks to help keep you cooled off. Is there a temporary pool bar setup and did they have frozen drinks?

From what I've heard there is a bar in a trailer that has all the same drinks that the pool bar always had. I hope they have some frozen ones for my trip too.
