Is this a ride, or do you walk through it? I've seen pictures, but they don't really show any vehicles...

It's a walk through that's presents in "parts" but there are no vehicles you must ride. I think it's done in three parts including the "undersea" walk which is pretty cool.

Yea it's one of my favorite attractions in IOA. I love going with first-timers, to see their reaction of it.

It's basically a walkthrough experience with special effects and such. There are several parts in total darkness, where kids may be frightened.

They tour guide (who is vital to making the show good) starts in a certain room, then something happens, where you must go to another room. More things happen then taking you to the final room, then it's over.

It's about 15 minutes long. It's good though.

we enjoyed Poseidons, but we where just of a couple of the water rides and we where very wet , and got a bit cold on the walk through. so do the water rides after Poseidons.

Unlike many here, I found Poseidon's Fury extremely boring (and dare I say it?) a waste of space at IOA. With the decorations and space of this attraction, much potential was (in my opinion) wasted.

As everyone said, Poseidon's Fury consists of a group of spectators "following" their guide through the lost temple of Poseidon. In other words, you walk to one room, listen and watch, walk to another room, listen and watch, etc. Granted, the underwater walk through was very nice, it does not make up for the boredom that was found for the previous 10 minutes.

I think that may be due to your "guide"-when we first went back in '99 the script and premise were different and it was pretty creepy for small kids-now it's high camp if you have the right TM guiding you through. The effects are still pretty cool, no matter how many times I've seen it.

I'm with Mr. Droopy - I found this attraction to be a complete waste of space at IOA. I found the whole thing to be boring and LONG - no one tells you that you will be stuck doing this attraction for 30 mintues with no way to escape, and standing for the majority of it in cramped quarters. I've done it twice - I wanted to give it a fair chance, but found the second time to be worse than the first. I for one (and I know this is blasphemous) hope that this attraction will be replaced with something else....but that's just me. I know lots of people like it, but I thought it was lacking.

ITA with this. DH and I thought this was the worst attraction in Orlando - and the flickering lights in the queueing area made me feel queesy. Total waste of time and space.

I like this attraction but agree its probably the last one on my list for IOA.

And it seems like it was much better in the earlier stages, they changed it or something. I remember the first time ended with this neat battle between poisiedon and his nemesis with these laser light images projected on water, I really liked that and I think they changed this all up, but haven't been since last year.

Agree with the posts up above that it's a waste of space. The attraction doesn't open until 11am, so I usually walk right by and keep going. Plus it's not a ride, it's more of a show with the water vortex being the best part.

Back in the day it was amazing. It was so much more sinister, and Poseidon was a bad guy. It was very good. Now....ehhh.....Its okay, I can do it once a year and be happy with it. I would like to see this turned into an Odyssea boat ride, the potential with that would be amazing.

Yeah I wish they would change it back to the way it was in the beginning. Why on earth would they change it to dumb it down when it was much better before???:confused3

One of the few bad moves I've seen them take. IMO

I used to think I was the only one that didn't like Poseidon.

We got really spoiled with FOTL on the other rides, and had to wait almost 15 minutes for this - so we didn't have a good attitude when we went in. Then my husband always heads to the back (well he is 6 foot and I am only 5'2). Thus, me standing in the back row does not allow me to see everything.

I did think the water vortex was very cool. When we go back, we will probably try this again to see why everyone else thinks its great. But it is not a "must-do" like Spidey.

Thanks for your views.:)

We don't like Poseidon's either. We did it twice, and that is enough for us. Here is a hint that we learned: it is a lot of standing. Make sure you know when the next show starts (the TM should be able to tell you). This way, you're not standing waiting in line for too long before you stand through the whole "show."

I am not big on skin-on-skin contact with strangers. It scheeves me out pretty well. It gets dark in there, and it's inevitable that you'll bump into someone or get your foot stepped on, or be the victim of some stupid parent who isn't watching his/her kid in there.

I suppose the premise is good, but I sure wouldn't miss it if HP takes it over for something else.

I agree that the original was better, and the sequence of events made it more memorable as well (the first room re-appearing)

The periods of total darkness were terrifying for my 5 and 7 year olds. It wasn't just a few seconds either (of course it could have seemed longer to me while I was trying to calm 2 screaming children). Kids aside, this attraction was just so-so. Like others said - very cold and lots of standing around. Don't go with the notion that you're going to get to sit down and have a nice break. We probably won't do this attraction again.

For those of you who hate the current version, it might be changing again in the near future.

My 5 and 7 year olds handled it ok, but I agree with the naysayers: it is a huge and unfortunate waste of space. We usually do it while waiting for our table at Mythos, but I cannot recommend it. Too cheesy to appeal to adults, too dark and loud for little ones, and way too much close contact with sweaty strangers.

we did not try this last time we were there, but were thinking this time we would..my question is if my kids get scared is there a way out? and i get claustrophobic(sp)is this something we should just skip? or is this a ride we should bite the bullet and just do it...my kids are 8 & 12, i would stay with the 3yr old...this is definetly not for her..right???
