Is it possible to get portraits done while you are on your honeymoon in the Magic Kingdom? I know they do that when you marry there and as much as I want that and keep bugging my DF it is just not going to happen....My dream was to have our picture in front of the castle without a bunch of people there- Is it still possible? :scratchin

as far as i know, you can take the pictures in front of the castle in your wedding attire, that's up to you. you can either go casual or have your wedding attire on. i don't know if it's an option for disneymooners only but it doesn't hurt to pick up the phone and call someone who will know better than me. ;)

There are 2 options for professional MK pics done by DPS. First is the Magic Kindom Portrait Session, which is done in your wedding attire. You are taken into the park at 6am before it opens to guests, and it is magical. It is $725. Second option is the Honeymoon Photographic Session, this is $295 and you would be in casual attire. FantasiaSam did these shots and they came out beautifully, you should ask to see hers!

Unless something has changed, Disney Photo Services is the only vendor who can do in park pictures in wedding attire, and they do it very early in the morning before the park opens. I'm not sure if they allow non-FTW to do this or not, but it never hurts to ask. What we did was purchase a "Bridal Portrait Package" for about $300 and then did DH and I together. The other choice is to do regular clothes, not sure if they do those outside park hours or not, but if not then there will be people in the photos for sure, there are very few places they can take pictures without other guests in the frame during park hours.

firefly girl,
ummm..... how did you get your hair and makeup done befor ethe pics???lol before 6 am:earseek: Also when did you do the pics, the day after the wedding??? Thanks so much. I want to do this and I want to know how this worked for you.

Disney Cosmo came to my room at 4am! Ungodly early but it was worth it.

I got my pics done 3 days after the wedding as it was the only date they had available, they only book one session per morning.

rob and i plan to do a bridal portrait session in front of the castle after our wedding. we still have to book that. i would prefer to get the pictures done the day after the wedding. that way, it'll be the last day that we have to wake up early during the trip.

My hair was pretty simple, and I decided to do my own hair and makeup. We decided to do it 2 days after the wedding, I just couldn't face getting up at 4am after being out until midnight. The flowers stayed nice, and we had no problem with the tux rental either.

One more thing to add about cosmo and hair, they charge more for those early morning sessions. I was married a few years ago so I am not familiar with the current pricing. Back then it was like $100 for the day of the wedding, $150 for the early morning to get to the castle for the pics.

Depending on the timing of your wedding, you may or may not
want to have to get up the next day. If your going to be drinking heavily, some people do, some people don't, that may also reflect when you do the pics. If your having a later in the evening reception verse one that starts in the afternoon, will make a big difference in when your wedding event ends, and possible how much sleep you will get.

About getting the pics done the day of the wedding. Your dress may get a little dirty. Things were still a little damp in the morning as they were spraying down things to get them clean. My dress accumulated a lot more dirt the day of the MK portraits, cound't see it in the pics, but the bottom of the dress was dirty.
Plus, you may want to get your dress steamed again after the early morning pics because you are driven around in a van and will be sitting down, causing wrinkles. You may or may not think that is acceptable to start the wedding portraits the rest of the wedding events.

We did the honeymoon shoot at the Magic Kingdom and you are more than welcome to go see my pictures they are online

It was well worth the $295 and we had lots of photos taken without crowds I don't know how as it was ever so ever so busy.

Fantasia Sam- I love the photos...Where do I call to arrange something like that?

I love the pictures...I really wish I was getting married there too! :( but I guess I will have to be happy with a honeymoon.

I was told by my EM that since we are hiring an outside photographer, we can use our two hours with Disney photography whenever we want, as long as it coordinates with them. We are considering the MK honeymoon shoot now, it would be great to get some professional photographs of us there.
