Ok so I always looked and thought - WOW I want to stay there and then looked at the price tag and thought Wow my bank manager does not want me to stay there.

BUT...

I rang universal (I love ringing the US!) to ask for the entertainment rate for Royal Pacific for one day in our holiday to get FOTL access at US & IOA but there was no entertainment rate available for my date. The guy then said but we do have the Portofino. Bearing in mind I have only really seen Portofino advertised for upwards of $330 a night I sighed and said go on how mmuch and he said $155 a night! (plus tax of course)

OH MY GOODNESS I went and booked two rooms for Sunday 15th August US is down as average for Sundays and both parks are down as light for Mondays in Simons book. Hope the FOTL access makes it worthwhile.

I am soooooo excited :bounce:

Can you tell?

That's a really good rate, Mel. ::yes:: We'll be staying at PBH for the second time in a couple of weeks and, yes, FOTL is a huge benefit.

What a great idea! We stayed in the Portofino for a week two years ago (you're going to love it- it's beeeoootiful!), and while FOTL privileges were fabulous, we found that there wasn't enough on-site to warrant a whole week there (as neither my brothers nor I have been driving long enough to be able to drive overseas yet.. and we hate having to bother DM & DD for lifts everywhere!) (Aaah, the splendour of Disney Transportation!).. I think a couple of days is perfect- immeadiate FOTL is a great feature, and will really cut down your touring time- leaving more time to really soak in the fantasic themeing, with the knowledge that you'll be ending each day in luxury!!
:teeth:

Which was really just an oh-so-lengthy way of saying, congratulations mel !!

Hi Mel

Oh you are going to love this place - really nice "upscale" feel and FOTL access is priceless.

How exciting Mel!!

PBH sounds fantastic!

That's wonderful Mel, great rate :Pinkbounc I'll be ringing Universal tonight as I want to stay at the Hard Rock Hotel again in September and I want to see what's cheaper - the entertainment card rate or annual pass rate. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time at the Portofino!
