are the postion sizes in table service resteraunts big? im worried b/c were on the dining plan and no il eat all of the courses (cant control by self with nice food) but dont want to be rolling around the parks afterwards. some of the meals seem small, e.g. salmon at mama melrose & some pics look smallish too. anyone got any opinions on this? thanks:cheer2:

Depends on where you eat...some say Le Cellier is small portions but since the food is rich it fills you right up. Kona has very nice size portions too.

I think most CS places are large enough to share

Maybe you should look at the food porn picture thread and see the pictures, judge for yourself

DBF and myself were on the dining plan in 2004 & 2005. We found the portions to be a bit on the big side, especially if eating at the table service restaurants. There were times when we took our dessert to go because we were just too full!! You will definitely have enough to eat! What we did so we wouldn't feel like gluttons all day was if we were eating at a table service restaurant for dinner, we would have a good breakfast in the morning and then just maybe a light lunch (split) or a snack to hold us over. That way, we were able to enjoy the food at our "big" dinner later in the day.

The portions are generally pretty big, although I have heard recent reports they have downsized them a bit. In any case, I know how you feel, its hard to not eat whats in front of you! I got where I didn't order separate appetizers and desserts for everyone and that helped me since sharing helped me stick to my Weight Watchers plan a bit better and left me feeling less full. I also found that we generally used our snack credits for water bottles, with dessert at both meals (unless it was breakfast) we just didn't have much craving for sweets in between meals. We did get a few favorites with snack credits but for the most part just drank our snacks. Good luck, one thing is for sure, even with eating quite a bit, you do a lot of walking which helps even out things a bit.

I know just how you feel - I have very little will power and tend to finish off everything on my plate, even if I'm already full. What I've been doing when I eat at WDW (and at home too) is have a salad as my appetizer (lots of yummy ones at WDW) and share dessert with DH. He'd rather not share sometimes ;) , but I really will only have room for a few bites and the rest is his. Otherwise, I'd get so stuffed and feel disgusting for a while until I digest a bit.

At the breakfast buffets, I always have some fresh fruit before I eat anything else. This way, I'm no longer starving and I make healthier choices and eat less. Together with the 6 miles or so that we walk each day in WDW, I maintain instead of gaining weight.

There aren't portions large enough to make you feel like you're rolling around the parks, as you put it, if you're eating the TS that comes with the dining plan.
