Portion size at Disney?

Hi all,

I was wondering if you guys can comment on the portion sizes at Disney? DH and I are both fairly big eaters, but when eating out at regular chain type places at home (Olive Garden, Red Lobster, etc.) we always have leftovers that we take home. Taking leftovers back to our room probably won't work for us at Disney---can't imagine having leftovers out of the fridge for too long in the hot Florida sun. We usually don't split meals when we go out, but I'm wondering if it might be a good idea for us at Disney, just so we aren't wasting food.

Can anyone comment? Thanks!

We are on the DDP. We have ADRs for:
Beirgarten, Cape May Seafood Buffet, Crystal Palace, Tusker House (breakfast), Mama Melrose, Ohanas, and Chef Mickeys.

:lmao: Now that I look at all of those, they are nearly all buffet type places...so, for me at least, it is a moot point! :)

I don't think we would have the same problem of leftovers we would want to save from counter service places.

Yeah, I think it is safe to say that you have nothing to worry about. Funny how sometimes we worry about things, but then when we actually write it down or think it out we have to laugh at ourselves for worrying about nothing.

You have some good choices, enjoy. :thumbsup2

One thing to avoid throwing food out is the quick service locations. They don't advertise it but you can order just a hamburger or sandwich with no french fries. We order one with fries and one with just the sandwich and share the fries. Disney fries aren't very good so that option works for us.

We never try to take leftovers back to our room. Besides the spoilage issue, it would be a pain in the butt to carry them around. exception to this is buying pastries in France for breakfast just before we leave Epcot. Or one time the server at Le Cellier offered to prepare breadsticks to go for my daughter. She wrapped up three pretzel breadsticks and butter in tin foil. My daughter really enjoyed those while we were waiting for Illuminations!

I have never had to ask for a doggie bag at the non buffet restaurants. OG,RL, yes.
