porting number from ATT to verizon- problems getting calls?

last nite we ported our ATT numbers over to verizon. for some reason, we can receive calls from cell phones but not from land lines. I called verizon all last nite, and of course when they call me from their phones it rings thru, but every other landline I try (work, my home, my folks home, inlaws home) won't ring thru.

they told me that since it was the weekend the transfer won't be complete until att is back in business today, possibly as late as tomorrow night.

has anyone had this happen to them before?

Not had the problem-but workedi in telco-verizons explination is quiet valid-using LNP (Local Number Portablitiy) requires that the owning carrier update thier network not to switch to the old location or sim card-that can take up to 24 hours or more depending on the software they run on the switches-and -if the tech folks at AT and T arent working on the weekend-it might take til sometime today or tomorrow for that update to get pushed.

Did you turn off all your phones and then the new ones back on? Perhaps they need to reboot to get fully onto the system.

I have spent the entire day on the phone with verizon. still not able to receive calls from landline phones. called att and they claim I am entirely out of their system, they have cleared out my account, but still cannot get calls
