Okay I have been researching these for over a month. I'm still completely confused. I have look at reviews on other websites. Can anyone tell me about the ones the have and how they like them?

Thanks a lot!!

i have a apex pd-450 that i boought off of e-bay for 41.00 just to see if the kids would truly use it,well they use it and i got it almost 1 year ago. I was going to get a bigger screen (mine is only a 5 inch) but i figured for 41.00 and it is still working great i will wait until it no longer works. My mom has a Polaroid 7in swivel screen and she loves it. When i get a new one that will be the one i buy.

I have aSony dream 7 inch screen. Love it and paid less then 200.00 with shipping off ebay.

I bought my boyfriend a Polaroid 7" and it's awesome. It's easy to use and has a 4 hour battery time. It was $137.00 at Walmart. We plan on taking it to watch movies on the plane.

With everyone that has one..how is the audio. I have heard complaints of sound being tinny.

I want to get one for my husband and i to take turns watching on our long drive down to FL.
Thanks.

we waited till walmart had a sale then bought the least expensive style for using in the car. it has 2 screens so they can be seen by both back seat passengers. we paid less than 150.00. we just pack up the main unit with the charger/battery unit (which you can plug directly into the player and the wall and save power) to take along with us. it's great.

We have the Polariod 7in. Got a free travel bag (with rebate) that hooks to front seats many diferent ways..also I purchased a transmitter that runs the sound through your car radio for about 15.00 so you can fade the sound to the rear of the vehicle and you can control the volume. We used it on a trip to North Carolina recently and entertained the crew perfectly! :cool1:

We have a Polaroid 5" swivel screen. It works very well and is perfect for my daughter. I have watched a movie on it here at home and the sound was very good considering its size. The swivel screen makes it very compact when you put it in the case that hangs off the front seat (it folds flat). It is also easy to slip out of the case when you want to bring it inside. It came in very handy when our DVD player in the house decided to die, we just plugged in the portable and are using it until we get a new one for the house!
I got it at Costco for about $165 (Canadian dollars, which is about $125 US). It will be a blessing for our 24 hour drive to WDW in 2 weeks. :goodvibes
Good luck with your purchase - you won't regret it!

We have a Samsung 10” that we really love. We originally purchased a Mintek 7”, but the battery kept getting super hot (dangerously hot). The battery was located on the bottom, so you couldn’t put it on your lap. The Samsung’s battery is located in the rear of the unit (no heat problems either) and the picture is awesome. Sound is okay, but it does project a surround sound even with the two small speakers. We rarely use the speakers anyway, mostly headphones. The Samsung is really thin, so this unit isn't too big with such a big screen. Our main use for the DVD player is on planes or connected to the TV in hotel rooms.

The battery is only good for one movie, but most planes have a power port. I do have a back-up battery for the long trips where a power port isn’t available.

Portable DVD players definitely make those long plane trips go by faster.

I have a Mintek 8 inch (I think!) and I love it! We don't have kids, but this was such a life saver to have on the 5 hour plane ride (on SW they don't show movies), so we got to watch a few movies there and back. In fact, I even caught people sitting around us watching Harry Potter with us. The sounds is good, but we did use the headphones most of the time. It was also fun to have while killing time in the airport (again on SW you have to get there a million years early to get a boarding pass). I would never travel without this thing!

I got it as a gift when I graduated from college in December and it is by far one of the best gifts I got.

NOTE: IF YOUR CHILDREN SUFFER FROM CAR SICKNESS DO NOT ALLOW THEM TO WATCH THE TV WHILE DRIVING. IF WILL MAKE THEM FEEL REALLY NAUSEATED AND POSSIBLY EVEN THROW UP! My neices friend failed to tell us this on a recent road trip and she vomited in my sisters brand new Sequoia!
