Hello!!

Was looking for some help from my fellow Canadian Disney lovers!

I'm looking into buying a portable DVD player, as I am heading off to Tokyo Disney and it is a very very long flight....

On The Shopping channel they have 2 listed:
Kawasaki: 279.88
Mustek: 329.27

Problem is, I have no idea what I should be looking for. Any suggestions you could give would be greatly appreciated :)

Thanks!

Thanks so much for the recommendation, I'll stop by Costco tonight and check it out:wave2:

Many thanks!

Hi there, there was a thread on this very subject about 6 months ago, so you may be able to find it if you search the archives. We bought ours at Best Buy about a year and a half ago and I swear it is one of the best investments we ahve ever made. We did not have an at home DVD player so this one doubles as that as well. Ours is a Panasonic and the reson we bought ours was the clarity of the screen, how compact it was, the life of the battery This is important if you are considering this for a looong plane ride.We get about 2 and a half hours out of one battery so we bought another to have as a spare because we usually go to Hawaii once very 2 years and this is about 10 hours in a plane. Make sure the battery is detachable otherwise you will only have the dvd for as long as your battery lasts. It took alot for my DH to convince me that this was a good thing to buy but we have used it so much, we always say this thing has practically paid for itself. You will not be sorry!:wave2:

Thank you! It's nice to hear what people say who have one, very helpful. I remember seeing that thread as well but the search function has been disabled for some reason, hoping it will come back soon!!

Thanks again!

MIne is a magnasonic and I bought it at Shoppers drug mart for $199. We love it. Ours has a case to hold the DVD upright on the back of a car seat, removable battery, headset, and it has been the best 200 I have spent in awhile.

Hockey Mom,

Can you give me a little info about yours? How long ago did you buy it, and what size is the screen? We have a large, new SDM here, but I never thought to look for electronics!

Mine is a 6 and half inch screen(most are 7 in), but still big enough for all 3 kids to see it in the van. It was a sale about a month ago and offered 20x the points with the optimum card. So by purchasing this item I also earned $75 free in optimum points. I do know we bought the last one in our store that day.

Great advice on the mintek dvd player mommabear.....Saw it when I was at costco last week.....thinking of buying it also...leaving for disney on Aug 6.....8 more days....can't wait.....

I think that was probably a thread I started last fall. We ended up spending more money and buying the 7 inch Cyberhome portable DVD player from Radio Shack. We had some difficulty with the plug receptacle on the machine and had to return it. We got a replacement at another R.S. and so far so good. Good screen quality and battery lasts about 4 hours. The package comes with the cables to attach to household 120V plugs and 12V car plugs.
