This is a great idea... I just wanted to add that if your car does not have a cassette player (one of ours does, one doesn't), you can get a converter that lets you broadcast whatever's playing on the DVD player through an FM station in your car. It plugs into the same spot that the headphones do and uses a low frequency like 88.1. I think we got ours at Best Buy for around $20. Definitely worth it!

That's a good idea, too! I had never heard of that. The adapter I bought was also about $20 (or less). I had looked into wireless headphones but they were about $20 a piece (times 4-yikes!)

Get the Initial Portable DVD Player With 7-inch Screen, model number IDM-1731. They sell them at Wal-Mart for $195.00. It's the best (price/performance) portable DVD made. You can check out the specifications at www.initialdvd.com and at the Wal-Mart site. I own two and they're great!

We have this model as well and we are thrilled with it. My husband wanted to buy a more expensive one, but I stuck to my guns and insisted we get this one. I am SO glad we made the decision to buy this one -- we've had it for over a year and its great! The picture is so clear, we've never had a problem with the DVD skipping, etc. -- a great value for less than $200!
