Hi all,

Anyone ever taken or had any problems taking a Portable DVD player on board the plane.
Planning on taking one for our son on our Virgin flight next month, pretty sure there is no problem but wanted to double check.

Nope, no problem. But it will need to be switched of for take-off and landing, like all electrical items.

You will probably not have a seat power socket to recharge the battery (and these tend not to be 12v auto sockets anyway); so you will be limited to the battery life.

Weve always taken ours and never had any trouble, weve always found that flying virgin DS never watches his DVd, as he's too busy watching the inflight entertainment that virgin offer.

okay thanks - yeah we have 2 batteries lined up so we should be okay.
Our son has never taken to the in-flight entertainment so we are lining up Sesame Street, Thomas The Tank, Pingu and Teletubbies , you cannot beat his old favourites ;-)

Just to doubly reassure you, when I was on a Virgin flight last October, they were handing portable dvd players out to the people who had faulty seat back entertainment units.

I notice your just down the road from me...I wonder if I know you.

Interesting - not only are you just down the road from me but also I lived in Fleetwood for 35 years, the last 9 after I got married, on Poulton Road - opposite the Queen's.

which would be about 1 minutes walk from me :-)

:-)

hmm do I know you then TRON...whats your name?
