Flying SW and DS wants to bring his portable DVD player. Will I have any issues at security and do they go thru the xray machine. :confused3

You will not have any problems. Take it out just like you would a laptop and put in a separate bin for it to pass through the Xray machine.

I always fly with my Minilaptop on lower arms and till now nobody said something to me, and the xray machine is not making any sound. I think my laptop is invisible. Haha!

You'll be fine! We would not even consider a trip with DD without her DVD player. :)

We always bring one usually with a new movie. They put the headphones on and I don't hear a peep until we are preparing to land.

If they are going to watch in before flight in the gate area try to get near a plug so the battery will last longer.

We also have a jack for ours to use as a DVD player on the hotel tv.

No, SWA does not supply plugs for electronic devices. Make sure your battery is charged. Also, know that you cannot operate your DVD player during take off and landings. The flight attendants will make announcements when you can turn on and off electronic devices.

We've never had a problem.

It's fine. Make sure he brings headphones.

My children use earbuds, but I now use the big noise cancelation headset. (Cheap $35 set.) I had a problem using the earbuds and cabin pressure apparently. My ears hurts for two days once we landed in WDW. With the new headset, I have had no problems at all.

My dd used to fly with hers all of the time until I started downloading movies on my ipod. So much more convenient to travel with ;) We never had to take hers out of her backpack at security, though.
