Hi:

We are eating at the Portabello Yacht Club our first night at Disney. We will be flying in early in the day and do not plan to go to any theme parks on our first day. We are planning to walk around DTD for a while before our ADRs. What is the dress code at the Portabello Yacht Club like? If we are wearing (nice) shorts and shirts, will that be okay?

Thanks,

Kelly

We went there for dinner a couple of years ago and I do remember being a little dressed. Dh wore a button down shirt with khakis (sp), and I wore a skirt and blouse outfit. Sort of smart casual. Not real dressed up but not totally casual either.

This is interesting-Portobello is listed as a "Signature" restaurant on the WDW website--but there is no mention on that site of any dress code. Yet--on the Handy Guide to all the Magic brochure (where the "business casual" dress code is printed), Portobello is NOT listed as a signature restaurant!!
Figure that one out!!
We ate at Portobello a few weeks back. Probably best to adhere to the WDW version of business casual and wear some sort of shirt w/ a collar, but shorts, jeans, etc will be just fine.

Thanks for the replies. I guess what I am asking is that if my boys and dh are wearing khaki shorts and nice shirts (golf type shirts) will we feel like we are "dressed up" enough? (I am not really worried about myself, it is easy to "dress up" a female outfit). It looks life from your reply, Uncleromulus, that we should be fine.

If we can't wear khaki shorts, I will probably change the ressie, as I can't imagine putting the boys in long pants in Fl. June weather.

Thanks!

Kelly

Your dh and boys will be fine in shorts and nice shirts. PYC does not "officially" have a dress code and I've dined there myself in shorts and a nice shirt.

I dined at the PYC many times wearing shorts and a golf shirt and felt comfortable. Go for it!

We're looking at eating at Portobello the week of August 7-13. I wanted to make sure about the dress code as well.
