Port vs Starboard and laundry room ?s

Hi all,

I've scoured the boards and see all the varying opinions on port vs starboard and realize much depends on the ports. Oddly, I didn't see much about the ports of Tortola and San Juan, though. Can anyone shed any light on which side is better for those ports when docked traditionally? Also, our cabin had rave reviews when we picked it, but I have since realized it is across from guest laundry (Deck 8, Aft - if that matters). Should we move? Noisy? Hot? Thanks in advance! We are first timers and sooo excited!
