Port Transfer to/from non-Disney timeshare

I will be taking a 3 day cruise out of Port Canaveral while I am staying at A WDW area non-Disney timeshare. I have not had much luck finding information about shared shuttle options though from this area.

Going back to MCO to take a shuttle from there does not seem to make sense. Should I just look into using Lyft/Uber or are there other cost effective options that I should look into?

The transfer would just be for myself and I would prefer to not rent a car. Thanks!

How are you getting to your timeshare? Will you need to go back to the timeshare after the cruise or just to the airport?

I'd check the price of Uber from there to the port. You can look it up in the uber ap at any time. That will give you an indication as to what you are looking at for price. Then you can compare it to a car service such as FL Tours.

How far is your timeshare from a Disney resort? Transfers are about $40 pp one way to/from the port and an Uber may cost double that one way since Port Canaveral is about an hour away from WDW.

I would Uber to a Disney Resort and pick up the DCL transfer from there if it were me.

Are you allowed to take the DCL bus to the port if you were not staying at that resort? I recall other people saying that you were prohibited from doing it the other way (i.e. you are not allowed to take a DCL bus from the port to a DCL resort that you are not staying at).

I agree, I've never heard of Disney letting anyone not staying at their resort book a transfer to DCL.

I thought it was possible but could be wrong. I recall reading about people staying at say the Swan/Dolphin and making their way to the Yacht/Beach Club to meet the the DCL bus.

Can't see why it would be prohibited (maybe I am missing something). As long as you are paying and arranged it in advance and show up on time with your bags why would they care if you didn't stay at that resort? In other cities I know they let you book DCL transfers from certain hotels even if you are not staying there. I recently stayed at the EB Hotel in Miami that DCL was using as a transfer hotel but didn't book it with Disney. I used my Chase points. When I called to book the transfers and asked DCL if it would be a problem that I didn't book with them they said it was fine.

As I said, I could very well be wrong but don't see why they would care.

I have also read recently about using DCL Transfers from WDW resorts even if not staying there. It's on the guest to get themselves to the resort; I don't know how the timing is communicated. It may be worth looking into for the OP.

Unless it's just two or three people, I can't imagine that a Disney transfer is going to be more economical.

My travel agent did mention that taking a Disney transfer is not an option since I am not staying at a Disney resort. I am staying at Vacation Village at Parkway. It is a little South East of Disney's Pop Century resort. Most likely will take a Lyft to the timeshare from the airport.
