Port to Barcelona Airport question with DCL transfers

Anyone know exactly what kind of Transportation DCL uses? And where exactly they let you off at the Airport?? Don't want to waste too much time sitting at the terminal waiting for a bus to fill--or getting dropped off at the Airport 2 miles from the terminal for United Airlines.

They used buses that picked us up at the port and took us to the Airport. We flew American and they dropped us off at the correct terminal for our flight. I think we waited a total of 5 minutes for the bus to fill up and leave the port.

Thanks--how were they able to get your luggage off the bus--what with about 17 Airlines serving that airport??

The bus driver loaded luggage in groups corresponding to the airlines/terminals and then unloaded the luggage at the appropriate terminal as passengers got off. Very similar to the luggage handling when using Disney’ Magical Express or DCL’s port to resort transportation in Port Canaveral where luggage is unloaded in groups as passengers are dropped off at various resorts.

Unless you have a legitimate reason to, I would not use DCL transportation for all the reasons you mentioned. It was so easy to get a cab from the airport to our hotel, it was a fixed rate of $39 I believe, and the cab easily held 4 people and 4 suitcases. The Disney transportation if I remember correctly would have been $140 for the same thing plus all the waiting on the bus to fill.

Agree! Cabs at the port are plentiful so no reason to pay DCL. We have disembarked a few times in Barcelona and always hopped right in a cab with no waiting.

I don’t recall seeing minivan taxis, not saying that there aren’t any, I just don’t especially remember. Regardless you can get two taxis as they are all in a big line and put one adult per taxi, split up the luggage, and taxi two can be instructed just to follow taxi one.

We're a party of 5 coming off the 12 night Med + a week in Rome beforehand (and all the accompyaning baggage). Are there mini-van taxis?

Yes - the five of us were in one taxi going to BCN from the port. We were charged 50 euros though which annoyed me as the flat rate is 39 euros, but the chart inside the taxi seems to suggest that technically they could add fees for suitcase and extra passengers.

Thanks, that’s what the chart was in the taxi. But why does it say 39€ is the final price for port to airport - then list supplements ? It’s not clear at all and wasn’t broken down into specific supplements for us, we were just told because we were 5 and had more luggage it would cost more. For the record we had 3 checked bags and one carry on, I would hardly call that “more” luggage.
