I have just booked the Port Orlean's for our trip but did not request a specific area (I know they can't guarantee it) etc. We are a family of five and would not to have too far to the pool and bus areas, however we did book only a standard room. Would like some suggestions on what the best area would be for us to request. Thanks for your help! :cool1:

Welcome to the DIS, Laura001!

If you are a family of five, I'm assuming that you are staying in the Port Orleans Riverside--the POFQ does not accomodate five unless one of the kids is under two and in a crib. So assuming that the three kids are older than two, if you are at the Riverside, you will be in the Alligator Bayou section of the resort. Buildings 14, 15, an 18 seem to be the closet buildings to the food court. There is a bus stop just out side the building that houses the food court.

If my assumption that you are at the Port Orleans Riverside is incorrect, please post so that myself or someone else can give you another answer.

Have fun planning your trip!

Hi laura001 :wave2:

A family 5 can easily stay in the Alligator Section. We've stayed in AB, Buldg 14 and loved the close proximity to everything! I'm sure they will put you in the AB section as they have trundle beds that accomondate that 5th person. Have fun making those Disney memories! :goodvibes

Thank you, I am going to call tomorrow and at least put in a request to have that section. Can't wait to go!!!

Thank you Karen for the info...however am a little confused...are you there tuesday and friday nights???

Laura, we have a chat room here on the DIS every night at 9:00 p.m. eastern. It can be found at www.disboards.com/chat I host chats on Tuesday and Saturday nights. Laura001, We're also a family of 5 and I reqested bldg. 14. Don't know that we'll get it, but since we're limited to rooms that have the trundle, that gives us a good chance. I also heard that that particular bldg is finishing up renovations so I'm really looking forward to possibly getting a newly refurbished room.

You'll love POR - we've stayed there twice and although it's considered moderate, the amenities are just as nice. The one thing it has over deluxes is the food court and that's good because that suits our family needs.
