I think POFQ would be your best bet. It is a very small resort so all the rooms are pretty close to the bus stop and food court. There is a small wading pool - is that what you mean by kiddie pool? There is only one large pool and no quiet ones. You can use the pools at POR too -they have several quiet ones. The food court is smaller and less crowded than CBR. My daughter was 3 when we stayed at POFQ last year and we really loved it. I highly recommend it with little ones.

I stayed at CBR when my daughter was two years old and paid for a preferred room. There is a LOT of walking to do there if you do not have a room close to a bus stop or the food court.

I don't know about CB but we loved Port Orleans. We stayed in the mansions and it was wonderful. The bus was the only bad part and it was just that it seemed like everyone else's bus came but ours and ours was the most full. The resort was spread out but I didn't think it was too bad walking to the restaurant and pool. The pool area was fantastic. It was our first stay there and I was there alone with DD. If DH had been along, he wouldn't have let us pay that much! :rotfl2: :confused3 I thought it was the best vacation I have ever had and if I went without DH, I would stay there again. We were not able to get into the French Quarter but I agree that it would be better for walking with toddlers. Also, if I remember correctly, the boat stops at French Quarter but not Riverside.

We Stayed at POR last month and were able to visit POFQ
and hang out, eat a late breakfast, swim for an afternoon.

We loved both sister Resorts but found POFQ to be very Quaint and Charming.
I loved the layout of POFQ and we will be staying there next trip.

I've heard that POFQ get picked up by the Bus 1st then go to POR,
we had no problems at POR.

You will also fall in Love with the boat Ride to DTD, it was so fun.
I preferred the Hot Tub at POFQ better than the one that was at
POR because it is bigger and is not right next to the Pool but behind the
outside Bar.

The look of POFQ is a Nicer Version of what the Real New Orleans looks like
and reminds me of the buildings in the Cartoon Movie: The Aristocats.
Very Romantic!

Food court was very good and you can also go to POR FC or the Sit down
TS restaurant Boatwright--Wonderful Breakfast!!

Tooting the horn for POR. Buildng 85 was steps away from the main pool, a quiet pool, the food court and store, etc. Most days we did not share buses with POFQ and we never stood on a bus. Food court food was fabulous. CM's really nice.

I think if you get the right building it is fabulous! (85 or 14 in AB)

I stayed at POFQ a couple of weeks ago and loved it. Never made it over to POR though. POFQ was small and everything was very close together. The bus service at POFQ was great too. I especially loved it when the buses didn't stop at POR. Like other people have said though POFQ is the first one and first off which makes it nicer.

I also like to stay at different resorts each time and thought about booking CBR for next years trip. I have read that the main pool at CBR is going to be closed for most of the year next year so I decided against staying there this time. POFQ had a very nice big pool with a great slide. Their kiddie pool was nothing special when comparing it to Pop.

I can't wait until the next time I stay at POFQ.

Couldnt have said it better :thumbsup2

We were debaiting between the two resorts ourselves this year and DH wanted POR because he didn't want to do all the walking at CBR. We asked for AB but got the mansion and I am glad we did. We were right across from the main pool. There was a lovely quiet pool right next to us too along with the laundry. And a bus pick up right in the back. Couldn't have made life easier! LOL! DD was 2 when we went and she had no problem walking to the food court or pool. And there was an elevator so we just brought along the stoller with no problems. It was nice and she loved it. The kiddie pool is just a standard wadding pool. And she would run between that and the main pool right beside it. The boat does come to POR for downtown. And we did take it to POFQ one night to see it and have a snack in the food court. I didn't care for it myself. I liked the open lay out of the POR better. POFQ seems like a regular hotel layout to me. And the food court was noisy and bright and dirty. We had our snack and agreed we would go back to POR next time. It just suits us better.
Although I would have loved the theme of CBR I am kinda glad we didn't pick it. You can't swim in the lake and I could imagine myself fighting with my 2yr old that she wasn't allowed in the water even though there was a beach. She wouldn't have understood. And we just fell in love with POR.

Another vote for POFQ. We stayed at both & my 2 boys still talk about POFQ. They want to go there again though I would like to try CBR. I hear the main pool there is being worked onso maybe we'll go to POFQ again. Bus stops there first, another plus.

OK - I will be different - our favorite is CBR. The North Trinidad and Martinique buildings are close to the food court and each have their own bus stop. The main pool at the CBR will be refurbished beginning January 2008 and work will be completed before your September visit. My 6 year old granddaughter loves CBR!!

We stayed at POR and Loved it. We stayed in the mansion section and had a short walk to main pool and food court. Food court was fine, never any problems. The scenery is beautiful here and we had great bus service to parks.

POR all the way. We like the fact that you can use both of the pools at each part of the resort (French Quarter and Riverside) and that you can access the boats that take you to Downtown Disney. My kids also love the food court at the Riverside resort.

We love CBR but just booked a few nights at POFQ for a change. I am really hoping that we will not be disappointed.

We've stayed at POR, CBR and POFQ. Although all are nice, we prefer either POR or CBR. I know that these are strictly personal preferences, but just for fun :) - here is our take on the top ten categories that matter most to us:

1) Size: A lot of people like POFQ because it is smaller but we actually like the fact that POR and CBR are larger. We like to stroll around the grounds in the evening and prefer the "open" feel of POR and CBR. For us, CBR wins by a nose because we like to walk around the lake.

2) Landscaping: While CBR has nice landscaping, we like POR's a bit more, particularly in the Bayou section. POFQ is pretty but the New Orleans feel doesn't quite work for us. POR wins going away!

3) Food Court: We found the POFQ food court to be smaller and much more crowded and louder than the POR or CBR food courts. We may give the slight edge to POR on this one because we like the layout better than CBR.

4) Restaurant: POFQ doesn't have one and the service at Boatwrights in POR hasn't been so great when we've eaten there. This one goes to CBR.

5) Store: We do look for souvenir's so we use the stores. This is a tie between CBR and POFQ.

6) Extra things to do: It is fun to rent the small motor boats at CBR but POR has the boat to downtown Disney, Carriage Rides and the lounge with Bob, the piano man. Arcades are about the same. Gotta go with POR on this one.

7) Check-in: All have been but we do like the fact that the check-in area at CBR is totally apart from the buildings. That means that there are no noisy and smelly buses coming, going, and unloading luggage in front of the resort. The location of the POFQ check-in tends to add to the foodcourt log-jam. I guess this is really a minor thing but the winner for us is CBR.

8) Rooms: Virtually the same in these three resorts - although CBR rooms might be very slightly larger. Our favorite room interior was when we stayed in the Mansions section of POR but our favorite room location was on the first floor of CBR with a view of lush landscaping outside our window. As for general cleanliness and layout, we'd give CBR the edge. At POFQ, we were on the third floor on the end of a building across from the foodcourt which meant more traffic and noise. The winner for us - CBR by a small margin.

9) Pool: Of the main pools, we definitely liked the POR main pool the best. It is larger and has a slide that bigger kids can use (we have a teen). The CBR main pool is nice but is a bit smaller. However, the main factor in this category is that both CBR and POR also have quiet pools around the resort and POFQ does not...which means that everyone at POFQ has to use the single pool. Because we tend to use the quiet pools a lot, either CBR or POR works better for us. Overall, POR is our winner in this category.

10) Staff: We've never had a bad experience with housekeeping at POR, POFQ or CBR. We did have a problem with our final bill at POFQ which took quite a while to resolve and prevented us from getting to a park as early as we wanted on check-out day. Not sure there is a clear winner in this category.
