Does anyone know if the beignets at Sassagoula Floatworks count towards a snack credit on the dining plan? There are 2 sizes 3 or 6. The same for both?

They used to allow both sizes but now they only let you use the snack credit on the 3 piece one.

FYI - We saw a family get the beignets for breakfast and we shocked that it took a snack credit not a breakfast credit.

of three is a snack credit. Usually items less than $4.50 or so can be bought with a snack credit. The three beignets fall below that.

LOVE the beignets, and yes, you can get the 3-pack for one snack credit (or as the dessert on a counter service meal.)

But keep in mind that these must be eaten fresh...they do not keep at all. Due to the nature of the fried pastry, as they cool they get hard & tough. Not good at all.

And be very careful eating them...breathe out at the wrong minute and you will be covered with powdered sugar (disaster if you're wearing black!)

And one final note...addictive.

are they filling? Would it make sense to share 3 with someone or to each get 3 apiece?

If you're talking about breakfast then each person would need their own 3 pack. If each person would normally want a full dessert then each person will want their own 3 pack. If you would normally split a dessert then split this. IMO a 3 pack is no more or less filling than any other of the huge WDW pastries or baked goods.

I would want all three for breakfast but would be fine with sharing for dessert. Enjoy and be sure to eat them while they are warm.

Worse still... if you INhale at the wrong time you may go into a coughing fit from the powdered sugar in your lungs! Sadly, I can speak from experience on this one. :faint:

size-wise...agree that if you would ordinarily split a dessert you would split the order of 3 probably. But would not split for breakfast unless very small eaters: 3 for a filling breakfast for one person.

They look fairly big, but they are hollow so not as substantial as you might think. And most of the powdered sugar ends up falling off into the basket (or down the front of you, :):thumbsup2

Also, be careful not to sneeze when eating them. Happened to my daughter once. It was not pretty, but it sure was funny! :rotfl2:

Or breathe. That powder sugar went EVERYTHWHERE! Worth the trip to Port Orleans just for them though.
