Port Orleans royal rooms

I cannot find a thread for the royal rooms anywhere. Are they all the same theme or are any slightly different? I convinced hubby we must stay there next year. worth it?? Never stayed at port Orleans before.

Any help would be great!

I have stayed in them. They are neat for 5 minutes and then just blend into the background of your stay. If you have little girls, it might be OK, but for a couple,i'd say spring for a preferred room at POR. It's our favorite resort!

It will be just me and hubby.im a huge Disney person though. what is difference between preferred and royal really?

BIG difference between royal and preferred in terms of theme. Royal is beautiful. Preferred are in Alligator Bayou. Not so much a fan of that theme. Very.... rustic.

I saw the thread but only went through a few pages and didn't see any talk on them. I'll have to look later

Yes, the preferred rooms are "rustic," but they are fine if you aren't hung up on the theme thing. I love the proximity of the preferred rooms to the main building/foodcourt/bus stops. POR is a bigger resort and walking a trek to get my refillable mug topped off is not on my list of "things to do." Ultimately it depends upon what is most important to you.

Regardless on what room you stay in, POR is a great resort that I have stayed both in the Alligator Bayou section and the royal rooms. I wouldn't, personally, stay in a RR again. Like I said in a PP, after the first 5 min and the first push of the fireworks button, the ambiance went away for me and it was "just another room." Not worth the $$.

Ask for the Oak Park section of the RR section with emphasis that it be on the river side. We paid for a "water view" to hopefully make it so that we weren't on the back of the building. This made us closer to the food court, etc. The grounds are beautiful and we had a fountain outside our window, which I found more interesting than the RR itself. The kids we took also liked the room, but it wasn't the highlight of their trip. They also lost interest after the initial wow factor. DD(12), Niece 10, nephew 9, friend 16.

Have a wonderful vacation whichever you choose!

Princesses visiting your room must be arranged by you through off-site service providers.

I prefer the options provided by a company call 'Princesses In My Palace' known in the Orlando area mostly by its acronym. Ask for Slickback, he'll set you up right.

We are staying in a Royal Room for the first time in november and my niece is so excited! Port Orleans is my favorite resort, both of them are actually. I cannot wait to finally see these rooms in person!

I wouldn't pay for AB at all; if I book POR again, it'll be a Royal Room to guarantee the Mansion area! We were in Oak Manor, and it was less than a 5 minute walk to refill my mug.
