Hi. we have never stayed at the Riverside before but are considering it this time. What do you think? There will be five of us so I guess there are only certain sections that we will be able to stay in. I have heard that some of the rooms are renovated and that some of them are not. Is this true? Has anyone stayed in a room with the trundle bed that has been renovated and is not a far walk? We've stayed at POFQ when we only had two children and the last three years have stayed at the Dolphin. Are we going to be happy here?

We stayed there for the same reason, we had 5 in a room. It is a nice place. The food court is wonderful there. The grounds are beautiful, can walk by the river and take the boat down to DD too. You will enjoy it.

You will have to stay in AB section. I am not sure where Disney is at in renovations, but you can just put on your room request that you would like to have a renovated room. I love the POR. We are going back in August. You can also go over to the FQ and use the pool there or eat at the food court. I am sure your kids would love that. You can either do the short walk or take the boat.

We stayed in a room for five in December. I don't know if it was renovated, because it was the first time I'd ever stayed there. But, the room was in good condition. We had a first floor room and were very close to a bus stop. Don't know where the closest pool was - we were only there one night until we moved to BWV. I'd stay there again!

Hi
We stayed there last March, just my 15yo son and me, it was a lovely place although I think all 5 of my family (21,19,15 plus DH and Me) would be alittle too cramped. My son and I loved the food court and whirlpool. We were in building 5, we had such a nice time, alittle cold, but nice!

We stayed in AB in May 2004 with our sons 2 and4. We loved everything about it. our May 2006 trip is in the planning phase right now and we'll definately be back to POR

Does anyone feel like Disney is not too accomodating to families with 5? I was really surprised when I made my reservation to know that I had basically 1 option of where to stay. I know the more expensive resorts have rooms for 5, but having 5 in a family kinda puts me on a budget at it is, so I was disappointed not to be able to stay at a Value Resort, they looked so nice not to mention the cost was nice. I think nowadays there are ALOT of families of 5, even consider that many families travel with a grandparent or two. Anyway, I have heard really nice things on here about the POR, and since that is where we are staying, I hope we enjoy it.

Yes, I agree. We have 5 in our family and there are so many more things you have to think and plan for. Most hotel rooms are for 4 people, and you really need PS for sure, because so many booths and tables are for 4 people. So, it can all be a blast, you just have to plan more.
