Here is a link for a map of POR so you can see the layout:

We have always requested Alligator Bayou Building 14 and have always gotten it. AB 14 is very close to the main building so you're close to food and a bus stop. It is also relatively close to the primary pool (Old Man Island). We always like the primary pool and have never used the quiet pools at POR. Lots of people -- especially those without kids -- rave about the quiet pools of which there are quite a few.

Hope this helps.

Alligator Bayou Building 27 is where we stayed last year.
5 minutes to pool
5 minutes to food
7 minutes to bus stop.

very close to all

want closer to food?
try building 14...seems to be most popular bldg cause its so close to food court. about 3 minutes walk if that

I stayed in the mansion section this past September, Oak Manor, the location was very convenient to the food court and the quiet pool that was between Oak Manor and Parterre Place. Parterre Place was actually the closest mansion to the bridge that led to the food court. But my walk was only about 5 minutes or so.
