I really wanted French Quarter since it is smaller but they could not accommodate our party there so we are booked for Riverside in a few weeks! I need to be close to busses and close to the food court and boat to DTD. Is this possible? Any recommendations of what location I should request?

Bldg 14 and 18 are close to all 3. However (warning!), the main bus stop is almost always the last, which more often than not means standing room only on the bus by the time all the rounds are made.

Is there a reason you NEED to be close? Is it something you can specify on your request? It wouldn't guarantee anything, but it *might* help. Is it a disability that would be accomodated by contacting Special Needs?

I timed the walk from the main pool to our bldg #25. I was surprised that it only took 5 minutes. That was a steady but unhurried walk, but of course I didn't have my 3 brats with me which might have made a difference. And it was really close to the bus stop, and we almost always had a seat since it was the first stop after POFQ.

No real medical reason. I will be traveling with my friend who has 4 little ones, ages 9,8,5,2. Just want it to be as convenient as possible. Could you recommend something close to the first bus stop. Do you know how far the food court is from there? Thank you so much for all your help. I do appreciate it. I planned on faxing over a request about 4 days prior to arrival.

Yiks! I have a POR map right here on my desk (duh!) - I corrected my 1st post, but our building was actually #25, not #27. From there it was 5 minutes to the pool, and about 8 minutes to the food court.

Will you have stroller(s) for the 2 and 5 year olds?

Are you going to be going back and forth from the parks, or just hit them once a day? I'm not sure how often you'll be riding the buses versus spending at the resort. I guess for me personally, I'd rather be close to a bus stop where there's a good chance of getting a seat, especially with children that age. Hopefully, though, someone would give up their seat for the 2 youngest. Not sure what building to recommend for you, but hope you enjoy POR!

Thanks Carmiedog!

Our plan is to come back each afternoon for naps/swimming so I agree we need to be as close to bus stop #1 as possible. I will find a map online to look at. Do you know where bus stop #1 is located at??
Thank you!

I stay there every year. I get a pool view room in Oak Manor. If you are facing the main building, the bridge on the right hand side goes directly to the food court and the left hand side goes directly to the front of the building towards the buses. It is convenient either way to get to the water taxi.

However, if you do any little ones, they may enjoy alligator bayou - they have a trundle bed. Some people say they call them troll beds, and the kids get a kick out of sleeping on it.

The only down side is that the restaurant is no longer serving breakfast, so you will definately have to eat at the food court. The restaurant still serves dinner, but for a moderate resort, it is terribly expensive. I would take the water taxi over to DTD and you will have better restaurants choices with less money.

Missytara,

Is there a bus stop close to Alligator Bayou? do you know what stop it would be??
Thank you

Thank you! I think I am leaning towards building #37 and #38! Hopefully we will get on of these buildings on the lowest level too! Thank you everyone for your help! If anyone knows what order the buses pick up and drop off in, that would be terrific!!

Thanks again!!

Typical order of bus stops:
POFQ - West - North - East - South

And yes, definitely request lower level. While we loved being so close to a bus stop, it was a pain lugging the stroller up and down stairs. :headache:

With the number of guests in the room you'll probably be in AB section. Request on your reservation building 14, 15 or 18 they are all nice and close to the main building/boat/pool(s) and laundry.

Thank you everyone for all your help. I think I have settled on requesting buildings #36-39, it appears to be close to the bus stop. I appreciate all the help and advice. Have a Magical Day:)

Be sure to check the bus route within the resort. We generally stay at CSR, and the buses there loop through the resort and stop at the main building last. So instead of walking to the front, we can hop on the first bus to come along, and ride it to the main building to go to the food court. It sounds as if POR is set up the same way.
