Hello,

I have some friends going to WDW of the 14th April 2008 for 2 weeks and they are staying at the port orleans riverside.

As I have never stayed here I haven't been able to assist them much with any details.

Can anyone help?

Also which is better Riverside or the French Quarter?

Hi we allways stay at the mansions at riverside but the two resorts both have thier attractions Riverside has the better food hall imo and Boatwrights which is the table service resteraunt is at riverside. The boat trip to DTD is a real treat and goes from both resorts the bus service to the park is shared between the two usually picking up at F Q first. Riverside is the bigger more spread out of the two. Your friends would be happy at either

We got back last friday from 15 nights at riverside and the place is fabulous, we stayed in AB14 which was close to everything food courts, main pool, bust stops. You can hire surrey bikes or take a carriage ride and the boat ride to downtown disney is a must do. We had a look round FQ and it is also really nice but think we slightly prefered Riverside - your friends will have a great time whichever they choose

Port Orleans Riverside is the larger of the two resorts. Port Orleans French Quarter is smaller and more compact.
Riverside is divided into two sections; the Aligator Bayou and the Mansions. The looks and feel of the two sections is completely different.
We prefer the AB section. It's more rustic, with heavy landscape planting so it feels quite secluded and never seems crowded.
French Quarter has a foodcourt but no table service restaurant. Riverside has both. The foodcourt is very good.

We've stayed at both and our preferance is for Riverside (Dixie Landings) - it's where we'd stay if we have to pay for accommodation (we're DVC members now and stay at Wilderness Lodge or the Beach Club for the cost of our annual fees).

Riverside is the bigger resort and has the table service resturant - although if you stay at French Quarter you can use all the facilities at Riverside, and vice versa. French Quarter is the quieter of the two and we will always have a 'soft-spot' for it as it was our first on-site stay.
