We had a Preferred room book, but we had to add an extra day because of flights..and for the 200 upgrade, we could stay in a Standard room for the same price..so I switched. So..I did have building 14 requested..but not sure which one to request for standard. I want to be as close as possible to the food court and a bus stop. I'm thinking builiding 16 or 26..and suggestions??
Thanks! :)

I had 17 last year and was told that this year half of building 17 is preferred thus making it hard to get a room there. I was a bit disappointed when we received building 34, second level to boot. But at the end of the 10 days, I have to say we liked the walk. It really wasn't that bad. We walked for coffee/drinks every morning, walked back to the room and got in our car to go to the parks.

16 or 26 would be fine.

Building 16 or 17 will give you standard views, but you won't be close to a bus stop.

Building 26 will have few standard views, but closer to the bus stop and walk to the food court.

Building 37 or 38 will have standard views and will be closer to the North Depot and food court.

Acadian House has plenty of standard views and is also a nice walk to the food court and the North depot.

You can see the map on the official POR thread.

I am not sure who gave you that information, but building no. 17 isn't mostly preferred, it is mostly waterview; most of the rooms face the quiet pool.

We are another family that enjoys the walk around POR, our DD's love going over the bridge and looking for animals by the river first thing in the morning:)

Since your DD is only one, I'd request Magnolia bend Building 85 (Magnolia Terrace). Clost to the main pool and the main building is just beyond a short walk. There is also a bus stop right behind the building.

What is the best preferred?

Depends; if you mean, closest, that would be building no. 14. But it will be the busiest, because everyone walks past that building to get there.

If you mean quietest, than building no. 27.

If you mean closest to the pool, that would be building no. 18.

Closest to parking would be building no. 15.

All depends on your definition of what is best for your situation. Hope that helps.
