I did a 3 night stay there in February. I had no issues with the room; it was clean and looked like it was recently renovated (which I learned that it was). There are 4 bus stops and in the middle of the day it also shares a bus with French Quarter, which is the first stop. I was over in Alligator Bayou near the West Depot bus stop, which is the first stop at Riverside and second after French Quarter. It was really nice to be guaranteed a seat on the bus but not so great to have to sit through 3 other stops.
It was about a 7-10 minute walk to the main pool and it was smaller than I had imagined it would be, especially for a resort as big as Riverside. It was VERY hard to find even a single chair and this was at around 11 am. Hot tub is super tiny and can fit 9-10 people MAX. There are quiet pools all around the resort and the building I was in was near one of them and just as a warning you can definitely hear kids screaming/playing in the pool from inside your room.
Housekeeping did not enter my room a single time throughout my stay so at one point we had to snatch extra towels from a cart. Lots of people were piling garbage bags, pizza boxes and fast food cartons outside their room due to lack of housekeeping. I fully expected minimal housekeeping as it stated that on check in and on the website, just wanted to share my experience.
Overall I had a nice stay and I would stay there again if I was doing a short stay. For a whole week, I would probably pick somewhere with less bus stops and a pool with a much larger hot tub (but that's just me, I'm a big fan of hot tubs at hotel pools).
