Port Orleans Riverside Question

Hey there,

So excited to be staying at POR on my upcoming trip (in May). We recently booked and opted for a river view room -- and I was wondering if those are Alligator Bayou or Magnolia Mend or both? And if there is a preference as to which would be preferable. The mansion houses look absolutely amazing.

Also, as a big Splash Mountain fan, would you say that Riverside pairs nicely with Splash mountain in terms of theming as both are essentially old southern themes?

If you want that "splash mountain feel" request alligator bayou. If you want a more Victorian "old south plantation" feel, request the mansions. There are river views in both, I think. It's a beautiful resort! You will like both, and make sure you catch the yee haw bob show!

Hi! We love POR and POFQ. It's actually my fave resort on property (and we have stayed at all deluxes except WL and GF!).

There are riverview rooms in both the Bayou and Mansion sections. We have only stayed in the Mansions. You are more likely to be placed in the Bayou with a party of 5 as those are the only rooms with trundles.

We were in Acadian House and it looks very far on the map, but we were very close to the main pool and only a short walk (5 mins) to the food court/lobby. We preferred to use the bus stop outside our bldg as we were often the only ones waiting there.

As for the theme, it is definitely Southern. We put off staying there for years just because we were afraid it would feel too much like home and not a vacation. Needless to say, we fell in love with the resort exactly because we did feel "at home" there.
