Stayed at POR on the first night of our last trip. I did not expect to fall in love with POR but I did. We want to go back.

:thumbsup2

I wonder how many are here celebrating their Thanksgiving! But happy one to all those celebrating Thanksgiving!!! Special Thanks to those serving overseas for us!

It would be fun having Thanksgiving at wdW! In Canada our Thanksgiving is in October. Gives us more time to digest the turkey before the next one at Christmas

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Does anyone know when the December Recreational Activities Calendars become available? Thanks so much!

We're staying at POR and are really trying to do Jedi Training Academy on 1/2. If the park is opening at 8, what time to we need to be at the bus stop to make sure we make it to HS early enough?

Thanks!

Give yourself 45 minutes and when you get to the park, go straight to sign up for Jedi training. Both my kids did it in October and it as awesome !

I'd suggest allowing nearer an hour if you want to be at the gates at opening time, just in case you get a long wait for a bus. Better safe than sorry.

My wife and I are celebrating our 24th Anniversary at Port Orleans Riverside. We check in this Friday. While we've been at Disneyland alot lately its nice to come back to our first Disney Resort. This will also be our first time to see WDW at Christmas time. I also wanted to say HI to Andre, Venomhatch, and Sue who have always been very kind on these boards.

Speaking of the Christmas festivities, Andre or Venom... Any thoughts on when the POR recreation schedule might come out? Would "any day now" possibly be today? :bitelip:

Does anyone have recommendations on room numbers or general buildings in the preferred section of AB? I'd like to not look at the parking lot or be constantly listening to crazy levels of noise. We stayed in Magnolia Terrace last year in a first floor corner room close to the footbridge and LOVED it.

If you're in a Standard category room, buildings 16 and 17 are quite nicely located for most things. Be aware that technically Standard View bookings to tend to face toward the parking lots though, you'd need a Garden View or above to distance yourself from that possibility. See www.portorleans.org/room-requests.php for lots more discussion on the subject though.

We are booked in a preferred room...those are bldgs. 14, 15, and 18 right? We'd like to be on the ground floor just to keep from lugging a stroller up and down stairs. DD will be turning 4 but I think her little legs will tire before her excitement will ;)
