I thought there was a walking path from poly to MK? Maybe I am thinking of Poly to something else

You must be thinking of the walking path from the Poly to the TTC or from Poly to GF. The only walking path to the MK is from the Contemporary.

So sounds like they are close in size. I am definately going to follow the info at the start of the thread with a request. The room assigners should have a better suggestion to where we should be for our needs. I made the request, but if they have a better one we go with it. Besides, wherever we ar ewill be good, at least there is the bus that stops at different spots, which helps ability to get to front of resort! Thanks!

You're welcome!

Just to say : we are back from a 14 days at P.OR, our very first time in wdw, and a trip of a lifetime ! Everything was perfect, this resort is gorgeous, bob jackson a must see and listen, the pools funtastic...the only problem ? Leaving and coming home xxc

So great to hear. Bittersweet, for sure.

I wanna start by saying thankyou for everybody that has given so much of their time to make this wonderful forum. I just arrived yesterday, is there any question that anybody has that I could answer? We will be here until Monday. Hey Venom, will you be here, at riverside this week, I would love to come and personally thankyou. Hope all is well with everyone:)

Could someone post what the online check-in request options are for POR? Some friends are getting ready to do online check-in for their trip. They booked a garden view, Royal Room. Just wondering what the online check-in options were for POR so I could help them decide what to request. Thanks!

Expected arrival/departure times, choose from corner room, second floor, ground floor, highest floor, and you are able to select if early check-in is your highest priority. Not very specific requests. We plan to fax over more specific requests about a week before arrival. There is a fax template for that purpose around here somewhere.

Does anyone have any information regarding the catch & release and the campfire? My DH would like to do the catch & release with my son during our free day and the campfire would be fun one night for DS. Is there a fee for the catch & release? Can I make reservations ahead of time? I can't seem to find much information about it. Thank you!!

There is a fee, I can't quite recall what it is though. Wasn't awful, it's by the hour and you pay when you're done. I don't believe you can make reservations and they don't have long hours.

Thank you so much. That link was very helpful. My DS and DH will have a blast. It's our first time staying at POR and we are really looking forward to it. We usually stay at POFQ but don't venture over much to POR.

We have a Preferred Room reserved right now but I'm wondering if I should switch it to the Royal Room. Any advice? Is the price difference worth it? It's only the 3 of us.

I did the same upgrade and it was worth it!! It wasnt much more per night and it added that "something special" to our night when we turned on the headboards to watch fireworks.

We've booked 1 night in Royal Room Gardenview before our cruise and we got 20% off (late fall Disney resort deal). We're looking forward to it because all reviews we've read so far have been very positive. We're in a standard room at CSR after the cruise, so we thought we'd splurge a little for that 1 night before cruise to make it special.

I don't know about the catch and release, but the campfire was cute. They give you a stick, you have to keep both feet on the ground, you can't wave your stick around in the air if your marshmallow lights on fire, you have to blow it out, and you need to keep back from the fire. If you want another marshmallow, some CMs ask you to say "mallow me please!" You can have as many as you like. They do not provide smore making kits, but you can bring your own. I went a few times, it was nice. I would have enjoyed it more if my family had come with me, but even solo it was nice. I chatted with the CMs while there.

I guess it depends on what is important to you. Royal rooms can be a hike or can be some of the closest rooms to the main building IF you get pool or river view. We prefer the mansion look so we booked a river view royal room to guarantee ourselves a mansion room with a view. We liked it so much we will definately be doing it again next trip.

Do the buses start running exactly 1.5hrs before park opening? For an 8:20am ADR at Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, would we take the bus at 7:30am?

We got a Royal room and now I'm excited after reading your little reviews. I had no idea which room to choose!:cool1:

Just booked my stay for next year at POR. 1 year out isn't too early to book, is it? ;)

I just booked a standard Room for 4.

My preference is to be in a room that isn't too far from the Bus Stop. But we also go swimming at the main pool every night....so I don't want to be too far from the main pool.

I can go either way....but which Building do you recommend for a room with a Standard View?

You can actually go to touringplans.com and see the view from each room. This way you can look at a map and at the pictures and figure out what is best for you.
